Korny Book Plans
Rockdirt reports: Korn bassist Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu spoke with Australia's Beat magazine about the band's plans to work on solo projects after wrapping up their world tour and before beginning work on their ninth album.

"I'm working on a project right now called StillWell, and I'm playing bass and guitar and producing, that will be coming out in less than a year," Fieldly tells Rod Yates. "I'm also putting out a bass solo album, it's like a jazz-fusion type of album."

Also on the recovering alcoholic's plate is a new book. "It's like an inspirational autobiography," he said. "It's going to have pictures from my childhood through my teens until now, and people's jaws are going to be on the ground when they read some of the stories, people are not going to believe I'm still alive. I've led the craziest life ever." - More Rockdirt

Gang of Four Now Duo of Two
Pampelmoose reports: The original and best-loved line-up of famed post-punk icons Gang of Four reunited in 2005 to great acclaim and success - unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Bassist Dave Allen and drummer Hugo Burnham are moving on, although singer Jon King and guitar-player Andy Gill will continue, focusing on writing and recording new music as Gang of Four.

Allen says, "At the beginning of April, I decided that I could no longer continue to be a member of Gang of Four. My ability to give 100% to the band is limited and I feel that if I can't do so, then I shouldn't continue. As I expand my research and thinking about contemporary music distribution on Pampelmoose.com, and as I focus on online technology and social networking at Nemo Design here in Portland, I find myself conflicted about how the band's new music should be released. To retain any credibility for Pampelmoose.com about what the future of music distribution will look like, I have to move on and not hold back Jon and Andy's music plans.

"I have had a side project for a while now with John Askew of Tracker and Menomena's drummer Danny Seim called Faux Hoax (pronounced Folks), and I look forward to fun times finding ways to get our music into peoples' hands in unique ways." - more on this story

Sebastian Bach Discusses Joining Velvet Revolver
Blabbermouth reports: Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach was interviewed yesterday (Tuesday, May 6) on "The Buckethead Show" on Tampa's 98 Rock radio station. During the interview, Bach was asked if there is any truth to the rumors that he is being considered for the lead-singer position in Velvet Revolver following that group's recent split with Scott Weiland.

"I've talked to Slash [Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist] recently," Sebastian revealed. "I think it'd be really awkward for me to join that band. Number one, my new record, 'Angel Down', I like it more than Velvet Revolver records. That's just being totally honest. I love Guns N' Roses material, but I've got my own old songs — Skid Row — so for me, it would all depend on music.

"I wouldn't just join the band just to join the band. If we came up with some incredible new songs, then maybe I'd think about it, but honestly, I'm very close friends with Axl [Rose, Guns N' Roses singer], and he sings three songs on my new record. I think Dr. Pepper owes me a case of free soda. [Laughs] [Referring to the Dr. Pepper soft drink company's announcement that it will offer a free can of its signature soda to 'everyone in America' if GN'R releases its long-delayed new album, 'Chinese Democracy', in 2008 — Ed.] Axl's been so nice to me — he's helped me out my whole career. - More on the story plus a link to audio of the full interview
