(PR) Wind-up Records has entered into an innovative, strategic partnership with Porter-Gentry Productions, a Nashville-based artist development company, to introduce Wind-up's flagship country recording artist, Eric Durrance.Under the unique business alliance between Wind-up and Porter-Gentry, Bernard Porter and Teddy Gentry will work towards developing and executing the marketing and promotions campaign to introduce Durrance and his new single and album entitled "Angels Fly Away," to the country music industry and radio.
Wind-up Records is set to release Durrance's country single entitled "Angels Fly Away." (June 9, 2008) Written by Craig Wiseman (Billboard's "Songwriter of the Year"—2006) and Dallas Davidson ("Honky Tonk Badonkadonk") of Big Loud Shirt, Nashville's premier independent publisher, "Angels Fly Away" is a tune Eric says he wished he had written. Eric had just endured the untimely death of his long-time manager and close personal friend, Dan Godwin, and just weeks later; the song was pitched to him. "Angels Fly Away landed in my hands as if hand-delivered from God. It's a 'Live Like You Were Dying' song with the message that every day is a gift and we're not promised a tomorrow," Eric says. "It's a feel good, sad song. I dedicate this single and the entire project to Dan." The single has an easy-does-it melody and features Eric's warm and cradling vocals as he delivers a story that is truly close to home.
A native of Tallahassee, Eric Durrance is a multi-talented musician and soulful vocalist who divides his time between his farm in Florida and Music City. His music has been described as "naturally honest" with a voice that comfortably lends itself to a country repertoire. "Eric Durrance has an incredible voice and brings a unique perspective as a singer/songwriter to country music. From the moment I met him, he's always had a fun and easy way about him," Co-producer Mark Bright introduces, "He is a wonderfully emotional singer and has a great ability to connect with the listener."
In support of the single and CD release, Durrance is scheduled to tour with Broken Bow artist, Jason Aldean and Capitol Records Duo, Lady Antebellum during the month of May and will embark on an aggressive radio tour with Teddy Gentry who will join him.
