Bangkok Five Week: Day 3 "Straight Fell Off"
antiMusic reports: The Bangkok Five have been favorites of antiMusic since before they were even the Bangkok Five. We celebrate the release of the band's sophomore album, 'We Love What Kills Us,' by asking frontman Frost to give us the inside story on his five favorite tracks from the album.

Here is Frost with today's song "Straight Fell Off": Love never hurt so bad. We were on the road and were getting played by our girls back home in one way or another. Blanco's fiancι ran off with the singer of Spoon for a week and my lady wound up in rehab for six months for cocaine addiction.

This life takes a toll on you in the deepest of ways. I remember rehearsing this, eyes locked to my drummers while we both sat there trying not to break into fits of pathetic, furious sobbing. Blanco almost killed himself over his loss. I will never be the same as a result of my experience. It's a really honest song and I love it for that.

The album hits stores next week but you can grab a taste right now, plus get the latest on the band and more - more on this story

Hannah Montana Film Accident
TMZ reports: The new Hannah Montana movie suddenly became an action flick when a freak ferris wheel accident on the set left several extras in bad shape.

According to witnesses on the set, all hell broke loose when high winds blew a giant piece of lighting equipment into a ferris wheel full of people on the Tennessee movie set.

Miley Cyrus, the star of the film, for all you out of touch people, had just wrapped a scene on the stage next to the ferris wheel when the accident occurred.

Cult Of Luna Go Mental On New CD
Hooked on Caps Lock Records reports: With the July 8th release date drawing nearer for Eternal Kingdom, the brand new album from Cult Of Luna, the hype is growing and the story behind the album is certainly adding to the excitement.

Based on an actual journal found in an old mental home, Eternal Kingdom takes listeners on a weird and wonderful journey through the mind of a former patient as he tells the tale of how his wife came to be murdered and of the mythical creatures he claims to have encountered during the time of the harrowing event.

Cult Of Luna guitarist Johannes Persson recently gave a track-by-track explanation of the songs from the upcoming album. To hear Johannes discussing the meanings behind the songs over exclusive clips from the songs themselves - go here

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Get A Little Furry Help On New CD
antiMusic reports: We got this rather strange update from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs: YYYs have been hopscotching down the road less traveled, from a barn in the Northeast to a ranch in the Southwest on our journey for the next sound. Why go RURAL? We're not yet sure ourselves, but one thing the city don't have that the country got is SPACE and there has been plenty of spacing out in the studio as of late.

Fuzzy soft muses aka kittens have played a major role in the writing process of Yeah Yeah Yeahs current and past records. Show Your Bones was written in Sam Spiegel's home studio amidst the birth of a litter of kittens, little gold lions scrambling around. Amazingly therapeutic, nothing turns a frown upside down (there are many frowns in the record writing process) as a purring kitten in your lap.

Alas our favorite kitten of all beloved SQUEAKER arrived just in time for record three! Abandoned by his mother, we've watched him grow before our very eyes from a blind and helpless little thing into a frisky and fierce little beauty- much like the tunes we're writing. Go figure. - more on this story

Slash A Cokehead, Not A Pepper
Blabbermouth reports: Mojo asked former Guns N' Roses and current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash what his feelings were about getting snubbed by Dr. Pepper as part of the drink manufacturer's recent "Chinese Democracy" promotion.

(Dr. Pepper has vowed to give everyone in the U.S. a free can of the drink if GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited new album, "Chinese Democracy", is released this year. Everyone, that is, apart from Slash and Buckethead [Guns N' Roses guitarist 2000-2004].)

"Yeah, someone sent me a text about that at 3:00 a.m. last night," Slash replied. "I thought, 'What kind of left-field shit is that?' It's pretty funny, actually. I guess Buckethead and I will just have to make do with Coca-Cola." - more on this story

Steve Vai To Play Hank Williams in New Film
House of Rock reports: He's already played the devil's guitarist, Jack Butler, in 'Crossroads', and now Steve Vai is portraying another conflicted sort, Hank Williams, in the new film 'Crazy'.

'Crazy' tells the story of Hank Garland, the emotionally unstable guitarist who rose to fame in the early 1950s as Nashville's top session player. Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams - all of them turned to Garland for his innovative artistry on the guitar.

Actor/southern rocker Waylon Payne , who also was featured as Jerry Lee Lewis in the 2005 Johnny Cash bio pic 'Walk The Line', plays Garland, whose career was cut short in 1961 after a crippling near-fatal car accident (the guitarist died in 2004). Ali Larter portrays Garland's beautiful but troubled wife, Evelyn. - more on this story

Lost Chicago Album Coming Out This Month
PR reports: Rhino Records will release the "lost" Chicago studio album, Stone of Sisyphus (XXXII), on June 17. Chicago will be appearing on A&E's Private Sessions this Sunday June 8 at 9am and on the CBS Early Show on June 20.

In his book, The Greatest Music Never Sold, author Dan Leroy writes about the Stone Of Sisyphus, the great lost Chicago album. Recorded in 1993 and produced by Peter Wolf, Sisyphus became a cult record immediately after Warner Bros. refused to release it because it wasn't the Chicago record that was expected. Knowing what they had created and not willing to compromise, the band left Warner Bros. and took the album with them.

Now, 15 years later, on June 17, this 11-song album with four bonus tracks will finally be available from Rhino Records at all physical and digital outlets. Powered by Chicago's celebrated horn section, the tracks on SISYPHUS have bite, power and swing, and the "fire in the belly" that one associates usually with debut albums. - Wanna hear it?

Blabbermouth reports: Uriah Heep has cancelled its previously announced nine date tour of Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus which was scheduled to commence in Chisinau, Moldova tomorrow, Wednesday, June 4.

According to the band, "the last-minute cancellation comes as a result of the tour promoter's complete lack of adherence to contractual stipulations concerning PA, lights, backline equipment, visas, tour itineraries, travel arrangements and failure to make scheduled payments.

"Uriah Heep bitterly regret having to cancel the tour, but over the past few weeks it has been impossible to finalize arrangements for the tour due to the promoters total failure to fulfil[l] their contractual obligations or supply the band with the correct advance information. - more on this story

Edgar Winter Rockline
PR reports: Currently gearing up for his second summer tour with Ringo Starr And His All-Starr Band, legendary rocker Edgar Winter will offer a sneak peak of his upcoming new album Rebel Road on the popular syndicated radio show Rockline on Wednesday, June 4 from 8:30-10:30 p.m. PST.

In addition to premiering tracks from the album, which features exciting guest performances by Slash, country superstar Clint Black and Winter's brother, blues guitar great Johnny Winter, the singer and multi-instrumentalist will be interviewed by longtime Rockline host Bob Coburn. Coburn, a rock radio institution who was an on-air personality on Los Angeles' KLOS from 1980-1994, will also play what he calls "a frighteningly good version" of Winter's classic 'Frankenstein' that the artist performed live on the show several years ago.

Rockline is still the only national call in radio show that gives listeners a chance to speak directly with the artists in a setting comfortable enough to accommodate the superstars of rock and roll. - more on this story
