antiMusic reports: Are you a bit tired of emo? Burnt out on mallcore and bling obsessed hip-hop? If so, alternative rockers Midnight to Twelve just might have what you are looking for. The band's surprisingly eclectic self-titled album hits stores next week and to get you ready for it we asked frontman Jon Hartman to pick some of his favorite songs from the album and tell us about them. Here is Jon with today's song:"Story": This is one of our newest songs that started out in one state and slowly got finished from one city to the next. It's kind of became the trend. We write when we feel we can't keep it in any longer and never just to finish a song so we can say we have another one in the bank. Al was working on the bones of the music but still wasn't sold on the structure of the song. As a band we set up in Las Cruces, NM and we had some time so we set up at the club and started working through it. After an hour or so of listening to Al quarterback the guys in working the song out, something clicked in my ear and then I went up to Al and shared the melody idea for the verse and he liked it. We got the structure worked out and the song became what it is. I let the emotion of music guide me both melodically and lyrically. We always go into songwriting with open ears. "Story" is all about why we should but usually don't listen to those that have experienced what we are going through. Hear what it's all about, learn more about the band and the CD, plus find out where you can see them live. It's all right

TMZ reports: Canadian cops say they have identified the imposter who is running around Ontario claiming to be Diamond Dave [David Lee Roth]! A police spokesperson says the man has "scammed a lot of people" and could be charged with obstruction of justice for giving a false name to cops. Apparently this dude has done this before. The faux Diamond Dave first surfaced on May 23, after a man suffering from an allergic reaction to nuts told two Canadian cops and paramedics he was the Van Halen frontman. Now a local police spokesperson admits he's not sure if the cops on the scene actually asked for i.d.

Hecklerspray reports: When Madonna chose Britney Spears to star in a video for her upcoming tour, she wanted Britney to utilise her best-known talent. So from that we can assume that Britney Spears will be singing in Madonna's video, right? Not quite. Dancing? Close, but no cigar.Instead, Madonna's video requires Britney Spears to smash up the inside of an elevator while screaming her lungs out like some sort of crazy, red-eyed bitch from hell. It's a stretch, we know, but somehow we think Britney Spears will be able to pull it off. We've seen Crossroads, after all, so we know what a versatile actor she can be when she's essentially limited to playing herself.

Blabbermouth reports: Winds in excess of 60 mph were blamed for the collapse of two stages at the Rocklahoma festival grounds [in Pryor, Oklahoma] at 6 p.m. Saturday [July 12]. Heavy rain, lightning and winds brought the '80s metal festival to a halt, but advance warning kept injuries to a minimum as thousands of festival-goers sought refuge in nearby tents, outbuildings, VIP areas and trailers. By 8 p.m., rock band Lynch Mob took the main stage for a shortened set as organizers kept an eye on the weather. One person broke an arm and was transported to the Mayes County Medical Center, Mayes County Sheriff Frank Cantey said. About 10 other people had minor injuries that didn't require treatment, he said.

PR reports: In keeping with their decision not to make conventional promotional music videos for any of the tracks on In Rainbows, Radiohead used absolutely no cameras in the making of its new "House Of Cards" clip, which can be viewed at Google.comInstead, "House Of Cards", directed by James Frost of Zoo Films, was created utilizing two technologies: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne Lidar. The Geometric Informatics scanning system employs structured light to capture detailed 3D images at close proximity, and was used to render the performances of Radiohead's Thom Yorke, the female lead and several partygoers. The Velodyne Lidar system uses multiple lasers to capture large environments in 3D, in this case 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute, capturing all of the exterior scenes and wide party shots. Geometric processed their own data while 510 Systems processed the Velodyne Lidar data. The data was then manipulated by Union Editorial and the Syndicate to create the final result.

antiMusic reports: If you have a loved one that is a fanatical fan of The Beatles, you are going to have some tough gift buying decisions this Christmas. Our friends over at Abbeyrd's Beatles Page have some big news on two new Beatles "must-haves" that will be making their way into stores later this year. First up, forget about Park Place, you want to land on Abbey Road Studios. What in the hell are we talking about? How about a Beatles themed Monopoly board game. According to ABP the game will be available early next month and they also have a lot of exclusive details about it. Very cool indeed, check it out here. This next bit of news might end up being far bigger. It seems that Bloomingdale has an exclusive Beatles ipod in the works. How can that be when the band's music isn't available digitally yet? You figure that one out and what it means. But you can't very well have a Beatles iPod without Beatles music can you? Wait, not so fast. There is some speculation in fan circles that a Beatles iPod isn't really in the offing. ABP contacted the retail giant to either confirm or deny that it's really coming.

Metal Underground reports: Swedish metal band In Flames issued the following update on their MySpace page about the canceled Evolution Festival show in Italy:Unfortunately tonight's show at the Evolution festival in Italy was canceled. The cancellation was due to extreme rain and bad weather. The main reason for us having to cancel the show was that the rain found it's way on to the stage shutting the monitor mixing desk down and also making it extremely dangerous to perform for the band and the crew.. As we all know, water and electricity and don't mix well together
We are VERY sorry for having to cancel this show. We were really looking forward to play tonight but as you hopefully understand it is beyond out control.
