Bullet For My Valentine Week: End of Days
antiMusic reports: When we heard that Bullet For My Valentine were releasing new CD, we knew that they'd be a good band to do a special week with. So we hit up their publicist and she delivered. As a result, each day this week members of the band will tell a little bit about some of the tracks off of their new CD "Scream Aim Fire." Here they are with today's song "End of Days".

Moose: "End of Days," I think it's the oldest existing song on the record, musically anyway. I think it was written around the 2006 Kerrang! Tour.

Matt: Yeah, that was written ages ago. Lyrically it took us over a year to write. It's about the idea, if you had 24 hours to live, how would you spend it? Would you go out on a cocaine, drug, alcohol, sex binge, or would you stay at home with loved ones and cherish every minute? It's kind of the two extremes and how you react, that's "End of Days."

Check out tracks from the CD, learn more about the band and grab tour dates (Europe and North America) and more - right here!

Rage Fans Turn Violent
Contact Music reports: An Australian music festival ended in chaos on Monday night (28Jan08) when fans of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE turned violent in their bid to get to the front of the stage.

Melbourne's Big Day Out event was marred by the crowd unrest, which saw one man knocked unconscious and another fall from a marquee at Flemington racecourse as the 45,000-strong audience pushed forward to see the Guerrilla Radio rockers in the finale.

Rage Against The Machine were later rushed off the stage by show organisers, who threatened to cut short the band's set altogether unless fans stopped the violence. - more on this story

Papa Roach Lose Member
antiMusic reports: Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix took to the band's Myspace to break the bad news to fans that drummer Dave Buckner has indeed left the group as they gear up for a new album. He writes:

"For y'all that don't know, we had to split with Dave, our drummer. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. He's taking this time to get his life together. We are still friends and still talk on a regular basis. The road is a hard place to live, and if you are falling apart, it will destroy you. He will be missed. But, on the other hand, life must go, and if you know anything about Papa Roach, adversity is the fuel for the flame. Nothing will ever stop us."

He prefaced that news with a tidbit on the band's recording plans: "I'm really excited to start writing again. We are going back to the Paramour to write for a month. It's gonna be sick." Jacody was referring to the famed Silver Lake, Ca recording studio/estate Paramour Mansion where the band recorded 2006's 'Paramour Sessions". - An interesting history of the Paramour is here

State Vs RIAA
Punknews.org reports: Someone finally realized that university students are also allowed to get assistance from lawyers as news has come in that The Oregon attorney general's office is investigating the Recording Industry Association of America's practices regarding 17 University of Oregon students accused of copyright infringement.

While the AG isn't minimizing the seriousness of copyright violations, his office has submitted a brief questioning the data mining tactics and subpoena practices employed by the RIAA.

The office is pushing to essentially cross-investigate RIAA representatives to ascertain the legality of its investigative practices--a discovery request that could be very expensive for the RIAA to respond to. - more on this story

Juno Tops Charts, Vinyl Edition in Feb
PR reports: Rhino kicks off its 30th anniversary year in January with its first #1 album on the Billboard Album chart: the Juno soundtrack. As the indie comedy phenomenon continues to gather steam (Juno garnered four Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Picture), its quirky soundtrack continues to rack up sales -- with an additional vinyl release in the wings.

The Junoverse expands next month as a limited-edition orange vinyl version of the Juno soundtrack arrives on February 18 (suggested retail price: $13.98). February also brings a Juno ringtone, Ellen Page and costar Michael Cera's cover of The Moldy Peaches' "Anyone Else But You," available from all major carriers. The charming duet, which closes the film, has also been added as a video on MTV.

The Juno soundtrack was initially rolled out to digital retailers in December as the film was opening in select cities. Juno has steadily gained momentum in the marketplace thanks to strong word of mouth -- and an unusual degree of synergy between the movie and its soundtrack. The film's young star, Ellen Page, suggested using the music of The Moldy Peaches, and the 19-track Juno soundtrack includes eight songs featuring that band's Kimya Dawson. The album debuted on the Billboard Top 10 -- largely on the strength of digital sales. - eCard

Queen CD and Tour Plans
antiMusic reports: Queen are planning to tour later this year to promote a new album with Paul Rodgers. This according to the band's guitarist. BW&BK has the story: QUEEN guitar legend Brian May spoke to the press after the premiere of We Will Rock You in Vienna on January 24, 2008. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

Q: There are rumours that you will be going on tour late this year. * May: "We are planning to. We're planning to tour in the autumn."

Q: What are your plans for the future? * May: "Ah well, we're finishing an album at the moment with Paul Rodgers. We plan to tour later in the year and that's about as far as I can see at the moment. I keep busy. I do lots of other things too. I've become a Chancellor of a University. I don't know if you know that, and a Doctor, and I don't sleep. (laughs)" - more on this story

God Dethroned Reunite with Drummer
antiMusic reports: God Dethroned have reunited with drummer Roel Sanders. Metal Underground has this statement from guitarist Isaac Delahaye: A little while ago our long time drummer Ariën Van Weesenbeek announced he would join the ranks of Dutch gothic metal rockers EPICA, leaving us no other choice than to let him go. We do understand his career move and we wish him all the best of luck for the future, and we'd like to thank him for all the years of pure blasphemy. We will play a farewell show with Ariën on March 28th at the Mezz club in Breda, Holland."

At the same time we are happy to announce the return of Roel Sanders, our drummer on the 'Grand Grimoire' and 'Bloody Blasphemy' albums!!! Roel left God Dethroned in the summer of 2000, but this time he's back to stay with us till the end. Some of you may also know him as the drummer for Inhume (and don't worry, he will continue with that band too)."

Soon we will start the writing process of a new album with the working title: 'Passiondale'... an epic tale about World War I. Musically the new album will be a mix between 'Bloody Blasphemy' and 'Lair of the White Worm'. - more on this story

Hinder Goes Triple Platinum As The Prepare Their New CD
PR reports: Universal Republic rockers Hinder have just received triple platinum notification for their debut album Extreme Behavior, snagging the coveted 3X-certification from the RIAA as they prepare to head back in to the studio to begin work on their much anticipated follow-up to their breakthrough debut.

As the buzz builds for the hearty batch of new songs slated for their upcoming 2nd album – many of which were road-tested as part of the group's summer and fall Bad Boys of Rock Tour – the determined band has confirmed they will again be working with Extreme Behavior helmsman Brian Howes. Hinder frontman Austin Winkler praised the noted producer as a key figure in capturing Hinder's raucous sound: "He knows our strengths and works very, very well with everyone in the band."

As for what fans can expect on the upcoming album, Winkler says they won't be Disappointed. " I actually believe we're ahead of the game on this one because of all the great experiences we've gone through as a band. It's been quite a rollercoaster ride. We've grown as songwriters and have learned so much." - more on this story

Hannah Montana Loses Hope
Hecklerspray reports: Hannah Montana, or Miley Cyrus as she's known in real life, isn't actually called Miley Cyrus, she was born with the name Destiny Hope Cyrus. But Miley Cyrus isn't called that now, either.

Sorry, that was confusing. Look - Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana in the TV show Hanna Montana, has just changed her name from Destiny Hope Cyrus to Miley Ray Cyrus because her Dad is Billy Ray Cyrus and everyone called her Miley Cyrus anyway and she liked the 'Ray' part of her Dad's name.

There, that's cleared all the confusion up. If you've got children, chances are you know who Miley Cyrus is because your children do nothing but watch her TV show over and over again and again and again like gawping attention span-deficient monkeys. - more on this story

The former Smiths guitarist joined the group in the studio in Stockport last week, and Jarman confirmed that the recording process had been more productive than expected.

"Well we don't know what were gonna do with it yet, we never made a full decision originally, we were just like 'Let's just get together and play for fun'... we're buddies and it seemed like a fun thing to do," he told 6Music. - more on this story
