(Xfm) After leaving the band a few times, Kooks bassist Max Rafferty has quit the band. And this time, he means it!

Rafferty has been absent from the band on a number of occasions thanks to illness but this time his departure is for good.

A statement from the band said: "Max Rafferty has parted company with The Kooks - the band will be continuing with the forthcoming shows. Dan Logan, bassist with local Brighton band Cat The Dog, will be filling in for the short-term." - more on this story
