Bullet For My Valentine Week: Take It Out With Me
antiMusic reports: When we heard that Bullet For My Valentine were releasing new CD, we knew that they'd be a good band to do a special week with. So we hit up their publicist and she delivered. As a result, each day this week members of the band will tell a little bit about some of the tracks off of their new CD "Scream Aim Fire." Here they are with today's song "Take It Out With Me".

Matt: This is the first collaboration with another artist we've ever done, we wrote it with Mr. Benji Webb who used to be the vocalist for Dub War and was also with Skindred. We've known the guy for years; he's a Newport lad. I was in the studio doing vocals and I was just pretty much struggling, and Benjie was just hanging around in the studio, just chilling, having a laugh. So, I gave him the instrumental version of the song and said, if you don't mind, see what you come up with vocally.

When we came in the next morning, Benjie was still in the studio, he hadn't been to bed, he was just up all night buzzing on the track. It just got us sharing the vocal duties, really. He's an amazing, amazing songwriter, front man and vocalist.

"I hit a rock and I could feel a loud snap as I broke my leg, and then I skied down to the piste, which was a bit stupid." - more on this story

Beyonce's a Slob
antiMusic reports: Yes it is indeed a very slow news day. So here is fun story for you from Contact Music: Former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland has labelled her former bandmate Beyonce Knowles a "slob".

The 26-year-old told music website urbanplanet.co.uk that touring with the hugely successful three-piece became nightmarish because of the slovenly habits of Beyonce and Michelle Williams.

"They're both slobs," she explained. "We would get on a tour bus and they'd flick off their shoes. And I'd be like, 'No! That's the corner for shoes!' - more on this story

U2 Want ISPs To Be Big Brother for Music Biz
Gigwise reports: Paul McGuiness, the long time manager of U2, has called on Internet service providers to do more to help tackle the problem of music piracy.

In an ardent speech at the MIDEM music conference in Cannes yesterday (January 28th), McGuiness said that persistent illegal downloaders should be disconnected by their ISP.

"If you were a magazine advertising stolen cars, handling the money for stolen cars and seeing to the delivery of stolen cars, the police would soon be at your door," he said. "That's no different to an ISP, but they say they can't do anything about it." - more on this story

Grammys Will Go On
Gigwise reports: The Grammys look set to go ahead after writers in Hollywood made an 'interim' agreement to work on the awards ceremony.

KISS Wants Your Euros
Metal Underground reports: According to a posting on KISS' official web site, the group's guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley confirmed last night (January 28) that KISS will tour Europe this May and June. They will play arena and stadium shows.

Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported last month that KISS is strongly rumored to be planning a headlining concert May 30 at Stockholm Stadion, an outdoor 30,000-seater arena.

Although Swedish promoter EMA Telstar has reportedly reserved the date as an option for KISS to play at the Stadion, the show has **NOT** been confirmed as yet, however, and should be treated as a rumor only. - more on this story

This Week in Rock History
antiMusic reports: Gibson has a great feature on their site with what happened during this week in music history. Yes they do run it every week. Here are some highlights from this week's posting.

1973 – KISS make their stage debut, performing at the Coventry Club in Queens, New York.

1969 – The Beatles perform in public for the last time, an impromptu, traffic-stopping lunchtime concert on the roof of Apple's Saville Row offices in London that's filmed for Let It Be.

1949 – Spurred by Columbia Records' new 33-1/3 rpm LP format, rival RCA-Victor introduces the 7" 45 rpm single and a compact new machine to play it on—the death knell of the 78 record. The vinyl single will dominate records and radio until the advent of the CD in the '80s.

1954 – After losing an acrimonious patent fight with employer RCA, Edwin Howard Armstrong, inventor of FM radio, leaps from his 13th floor New York City apartment. His widow Marian—former secretary to RCA chief David Sarnoff—renews the FM patent battle with RCA, eventually prevailing in 1967. The hi-fi stereo signal of Armstrong's broadcast format quickly revolutionizes rock radio.

The Wrecking Crew
PR reports: Howard Roberts and Tommy Tedesco, world-renowned guitarists who contributed to the founding of Hollywood's Musicians Institute, are among the many L.A.-based session musicians profiled in The Wrecking Crew, a documentary film currently under development by producer (and Tommy's son) Denny Tedesco.

In recalling the golden years of the L.A. recording studio scene, Denny Tedesco tells the story of the A-listers who performed on thousands of records, film and television soundtracks that comprised a virtual soundtrack of '60s popular culture. Tommy Tedesco (who died in 1997) and Roberts (who died in 1992) were among the legendary players in the Crew who supplied the music for the Beach Boys, Phil Spector, the Monkees, Sonny & Cher, the Mamas and the Papas, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, and dozens of other pop icons.

The Wrecking Crew has been selected for screenings at the upcoming South By Southwest (SXSW) (March 7-15), Buffalo (March 24-29) and Nashville (April 17-24) film festivals. - more on this story
