antiMusic reports: Remember all the that noise about Lily Allen's TV show sucking earlier this week? Turns out that the viewers took the studio audience warning to heart as Lily actually drove viewers away from TV!Idolator has the story: Proving once again that TV about the Internet is probably not the best programming direction for executives interested in keeping their jobs, Lily Allen's MySpace-themed chat show--which featured Cuba Gooding Jr., a segment based around YouTube-sourced clips animals having sex, and Tay Zonday covering Lily's song "Smile"--tanked in the ratings Tuesday night. Lily Allen And Friends "reduced BBC Three's average audience for the 10:30pm slot by some 200,000 viewers"

TMZ reports: In a bizarre twist, a lawyer in NYC has filed legal papers in Federal court, asking that Britney's conservatorship case be taken away from L.A. County Superior Court. In the documents obtained by TMZ, attorney Jon Eardley claims Britney's rights have been snatched away from her and she has been cut off from life as she knows it.Eardley claims, "It is doubtful that Ms. Spears can receive equal protection and a fair trial or hearing in the custody proceedings because of the intense media scrutiny of what would normally be private aspects of a person's life." It appears Eardley wants an injunction issued in federal court, asking the judge for the power to protect Brit in the custody case as well. The documents allege "the deprivation of her civil liberties by the conservator is so severe as to interfere with the effectiveness of the scheduled medications that are covered by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act." This appears to be an attempt to get the Federal court to accept jurisdiction.

antiMusic reports: Apple snagged U2 for a special edition iPod and now Microsoft has enlisted Kenna for a special edition Zune player. We're not very familiar with Kenna, but apparently U2's 'Joshua Tree' inspired Kenna to get into music and Kenna's debut enjoyed some moderate sales according to wikipedia. But for the diehard Kenna fan, this Zune player seems like a must have. Here is the 411 from the PR company: Zune has teamed with the artist Kenna to produce a black 4GB custom Zune media player featuring an original piece of art designed by Kenna and Jeff McMillan called "The Translator." The artwork is engraved on the back of the player and the devices are numbered and limited to 200 pieces. The custom player is also loaded with the "Say Goodbye to Love" video (directed by Hype Williams), and Kenna's full album "Make Sure They See My Face." Through a promotion in conjunction with Interscope Records and Kenna's single "Say Goodbye to Love," radio listeners at ten different stations can tune in on Valentine's Day and have a chance to win one of the custom devices. Each winner also receives an exclusive poster based upon the original artwork. "The Zune vision incorporates community and relationships allowing us to share the things we love. Music is one of the things we love. I am excited to share that vision," says Kenna.

antiMusic reports: Apparently there is a magazine called Radar and in their new issue they interview Goldfrapp. They kindly sent over some excerpts of said interview. We couldn't find the full thing on their website, but they did have an interesting blurb about how a certain presidential candidate is scarily similar to Hitler. So you'll have to buy the mag for the full interview but for now here are some excerpts and the intro they sent over: Last year was a strange one for Goldfrapp. The duo's album Supernature yielded a string of international dance hits, a world tour, and serious bank from licensing agreements with Target, Coke, and roughly half the Fortune 500. Clearly, it was time to change their tune. On their new album, Seventh Tree, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory ditch the icy vocals and sex-soaked beats that earned them a pair of Grammy nominations in favor of a surprisingly sunny new sound. In the March issue of Radar, they reflect on going soft, Britney Spears, and their loathing of journalists. On the changing things up on their new album: "From our last album, Felt Mountain, to Black Cherry, there was a real about face as well. My hope is that our fans have come to expect that from us at this point or at least that's what we tell ourselves.'" On questions about Alison Goldfrapp's age: "After we finished the tour, we went to this big industry to-do with loads of famous people, and they all kept asking me how old I was! It was really rude. Was it because they wanted to have sex with me, or because I looked too old to be at the party? Never did get to the bottom of that one." On the messy public lives of Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears: "Well, that's the world we live in now. There's this absolute obsession with can't-look-away, car-crash TV, which is what we wrote our new song "Clowns" about. Watching these people come apart appeals to our darkest nature. Both of these girls are quite young, and neither has had much life yet, so they don't know any better."

PR reports: NYC singer-songwriter Leah Siegel releases a music video on itunes this Monday February 10, a live performance of Elvis's 'Love Me Tender." Siegel teamed up with Grammy nominated producer Mike Caffrey, who conceptualized and directed the project shot on location at Monster Island Studio. The video is available just in time to download or gift to loved ones this Valentine's Day. Shot live in one take with a handeld camera, the black and white footage of Siegel's rendition captures a timeless love song that can be delivered via email as a video valentine, an idea that came to Caffrey while pondering the dying art of sending a mix tape to the one you love; a modern take on the mix tape, a throwback tune to be played back on an ipod. Using her iconic vintage Epiphone played through a 1960's amplifier, the audio and visual image capture in dimly lit contrast Siegel's much buzzed- about vocal and musical talent, the song and style itself in perfect contrast to a modern day method of sending it along. The first release from a collection of tunes new and old captured during the shoot at Monster Island, "Love Me Tender" kicks off what Siegel and Caffrey hope to be a series of black and white videos that will be available for download on iTunes.

PR reports: Ben's Brother's full-length debut, 'Beta Male Fairytales', was released in the U.S. on December 4th. The album will include "Stuttering" and a host of equally irresistible compositions ranging from the old school soul of the anthemic "Rise" to gloriously vulnerable ballads such as "Let Me Out."Hartman's astounding voice can break your heart in one song and send it soaring in the next. And the UK press has already taken note. "Hartman...knows his way around a beautiful chord progression and an emotive lyric," said London's Sunday Times, going on to describe the band's songs as "immaculately rough-hewn" while the Daily Mail praised their "blend of vintage soul and Stones riffs." The band has also elicited praise from fellow UK artist James Morrison, who praised their "great songs with beautiful arrangements," advising: "take a listen." Ben's Brother will be playing at a music festival in Austin, TX this March, and they want you there! Enter to win a trip to Austin, TX and VIP passes to the Levi's/Fader Fort by

Filter reports: Oren Lavie arrives like a breath of fresh air, with his dulcet-toned vocals and accomplished instrumentation. Hard to describe such a unique mix of folk and classical, beauty and ambience - think equal parts Nick Drake and David Sylvian with a nice dash of Leonard Cohen - stirred not shaken. "Her Morning Elegance" is the opening track of his debut album, The Opposite Side Of The Sea, and is a captivating ode to a moment passed, warm and quietly upbeat. Seems it quickly came to the attention of Chevy who snapped it up for use in their new Malibu ad campaign which debuted this week during the Grammys.

The Dillinger Escape Plan is a true monument to progression. At times fiendishly catchy, at others brutally complex. Catching the mathcore outfit on their latest tour, Mark spoke to bassist Liam Wilson about just what the Dillinger Escape Plan REALLY is.

On their MySpace page, the band's tagline is "Rock and roll with a side of biscuits and gravy." That's about right. There is a definite Allman Brothers influence in "Say Hello." In other tunes the band tends toward grittier southern rock like Molly Hatchett. (3.5 stars)

London's late lamented Marquee Club was one of the main venues for new and developing talent in the late '60s and throughout the '70s and as such many artists and fans had a CBGB-like sentimentality towards the hall. (3 stars)
