antiMusic reports: This week we turn our eyes to Canada with two artists that may come from the same part of the world but come from different worlds musically- Serena Ryder and Billy Talent. Our Canadian readers should already be familiar with the singer/songstress Serana Ryder, as she has a Top 20 hit and gold album under her belt. She's now looking to bring her music to her southern neighbors with her Atlantic debut EP "Told You In A Whispered Song". This week Serena will tell us about the songs. Here is Serena with today's songs "Brand New Love" and "Weak In The Knees". "BRAND NEW LOVE" In theory.. I know that I can't possibly change anyone else.....in theory.....I know that there is no such thing as replacement... in theory... the most courageous thing any one person can do is surrender. "WEAK IN THE KNEES" It's our own fault...as much as we'd love to put the blame on them...we've always done it all to ourselves... we should know by now...the difference between love and falling down... "you can't rollerskate in a buffalo heard...but you can be happy if you've a mind to" -Roger Miller We'll be back with Serena on Friday for final song story. For now find out how she differs from the standard singer/songwriter by checking out the songs on her

PR reports: Switchfoot launches its spring "Up In Arms Tour" in San Antonio March 27 and hits college towns throughout the South and Midwest states. The tour will benefit To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) and features a special performance by double Platinum-selling English band, Athlete. Tickets for the tour are on sale today and can be purchased through www.switchfoot.com."We've known Jamie [Tworkowski] for over five years now, and when he first told us about his vision to start TWLOHA two years ago, we were thrilled to jump on board in whatever way we could, wearing his t-shirts, linking to his myspace, just getting the word out," says Switchfoot member Tim Foreman. "The dialogue surrounding depression is such an important one. It is huge for people to know that these are issues that are normal and ok to talk about. TWLOHA is breathing hope into lives once trapped by fear and doubts. 'Love is the Movement.' We're honored that a song we wrote seven years ago has become the slogan for TWLOHA. And it's true: love provides the motion that pushes us past the scars wear."

antiMusic reports: Back in 2006 our very own Travis Becker wrote of the Bangkok Five's debut album, "These Hollywood gutter Garage punks kick the door in and ransack the place. Keeping the energy and not worrying about the cooler-than-thou posturing, the band fuses style and substance in a rollicking major-label debut. Forget trends or style, whether they have any or not, The Bangkok Five rock in that most satisfying of ways, completely." Well, they're back to rock us completely again! The Bangkok Five returns with their sophomore album, WE LOVE WHAT KILLS US, due out May 13 on Long Live Crime Records (distributed by MRI/ Red). WE LOVE WHAT KILLS US is the follow-up to the band's 2006 debut, WHO'S GONNA TAKE US ALIVE? (Universal). The first single from that album, "Spread Eagle," hit # 1 on several tastemaker indie rock radio stations across the country, leading to tours of Europe, Canada and the U.S. with bands such as Hot Hot Heat, The Cult, The Stooges, The Bronx, Buckcherry, (International) Noise Conspiracy and Papa Roach. Produced by the band along with Manny Nieto (The Mars Volta, The Circle Jerks, The Breeders), WE LOVE WHAT KILLS US was recorded live to tape at Wetandry Studios in Echo Park, California.

Lambgoat reports: Soilwork and guitarist Ola Frenning have officially parted ways. According to the band, "It was felt that Ola resisted the demands of the road and found it difficult to come to terms with the amount of touring scheduled." Vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid adds, "It was a very difficult decision to make because Ola has been our friend and bandmate for a very long time." Meanwhile, Frenning had the following to say: "After 10 years, seven albums and several world wide tours, we've realized that we have developed in different directions and have a different set of values, profession wise. The disagreements have reached their peak and it has become an untenable situation. The band's solution is that I part ways with them so that I won't be in the way for the future plans of Soilwork.

Hecklerspray reports: If you see notorious LA gangs the Crips and the Bloods as the city's neighbourhood watch brigade, you'll understand that they'd want to do something about this Britney Spears menace.Which they are. Admittedly they're reportedly doing it by sending gang members into paparazzi scrums to scare the photographers into leaving Britney Spears alone. That's both distasteful and immoral, but anything that stops us from having to look at photos of Britney Spears' mouldy old bajingo any more is alright in our books. According to the New York Daily News: "The legion of lensmen has been infiltrated by L.A. gang members — Crips and Bloods, according to some photo-agency heads. They claim rival agencies are arming the thugs with cameras and sending them out to do battle with the dozens of paps who rubberneck around Hollywood's favorite train wreck. All of the agency heads we interviewed said they do not hire street toughs. "They may dress like gang members with large pants and tattoos, but to say they're gang members right now, well, real gang members are not into Britney Spears," said Frank Navarre, a Frenchman who owns the X17 agency. "I think red carpet is worse. I used to do red carpet myself, and one guy broke my camera."
