antiMusic reports: Some news did come out
of that Jimmy Page press conference. It looks like Led Zeppelin will be
touring. Xfm has the story: Jimmy Page has said that Led Zeppelin put enough
work in for a tour. Trouble is, you'll have to wait until at least September
if it does happen again.
Speaking to reporters in Tokyo earlier
today, the guitarist said that Robert Plant's forthcoming tour with bluegrass
star Alison Krauss to promote their 'Raising Sand' album would take precedence
over any Led Zeppelin activity.
"I can assure you the amount of work that
we put into the O2 (concert), for ourselves rehearsing and the staging
of it, was probably what you put into a world tour," Page told Reuters.-

Contact Music reports: A teenager from northern
California has been arrested for allegedly planning to crash a plane into
a MILEY CYRUS concert. The unnamed 16-year-old was detained by the U.S.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after smuggling handcuffs, duct tape,
rope and other items on to a flight from Los Angeles on Tuesday (22Jan08).
Although there was no incident on the plane,
the FBI have accused the boy of hatching plans to hijack the jet and direct
it into a stadium in Lafayette, Los Angeles, where the pop star was performing,
according to TMZ.com.
A spokesman for the FBI tells the website,
"He had some general plans where he was going and indicated where he wanted
to die." [We're not sure how legit this whole thing is as the kid had the
concert date wrong and you would think the mainstream media would be all
over this.]- more

Wenn reports: An Australian music festival
ended in chaos on Monday night (28Jan08) when fans of RAGE AGAINST THE
MACHINE turned violent in their bid to get to the front of the stage.
Melbourne's Big Day Out event was marred
by the crowd unrest, which saw one man knocked unconscious and another
fall from a marquee at Flemington racecourse as the 45,000-strong audience
pushed forward to see the Guerrilla Radio rockers in the finale.
Rage Against The Machine were later rushed
off the stage by show organisers, who threatened to cut short the band's
set altogether unless fans stopped the violence.- more

Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, Jon Knight, and Danny Wood
will announce a big old New Kids On The Block comeback within the next
few weeks, despite all five members having aged far out of the "kid" demographic
years ago.
(The oldest member, Jon Knight, is now
40! And working as a real estate developer! Wonder if the market's recent
trials have contributed to his newfound willingness to return to performing.)
The reunion coincides with the 20th anniversary
of Hangin' Tough, which went eight-times platinum and sold 20 million copies
worldwide. [that is just scary]- more

Metal Underground reports: DISTURBED is looking
at a late May release for its fourth studio album, titled "Indestructible".
A single is likely to surface at radio stations sometime in March, although
the song itself has yet to be finalized.
The group is reportedly working on a number
of promotional ideas to support the record. Singer David Draiman, a strong
proponent of making music a purely digital product, told The Pulse of Radio
that the band will nevertheless add a lot of extra features to the CD.
"I definitely am all for any record companies
being as aggressive as they can about moving towards just completely digital-based
media," he said. "But we will continue to try and do things, and we're
still going to do things this record cycle as well, to try and make it
where there's a reason to buy it that's beyond what we're doing just musically."

TMZ reports: Diana Ross pissed off a crowd
of 40,000 at the 2008 Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival on Saturday,
where she was booed and heckled by Jamaicans attending the festival at
in Montego Bay -- after organizers told them that "to honor Miss Ross'
wishes, she will not be shown on the monitors." That news was greeted with
widespread hissing. Oh no she didn't!
Patrons in the stadium-sized arena were
unable to see her, so they wanted to put her performance up on the big
screen. A concert organizer said, "It was at the eleventh hour that her
manager said she wouldn't allow us to IMAG (In Vivo Imaging) her performance
and, if any cameras were present, she would not go onstage." Attendees
paid from $80 to $307 to attend the concert, where Ross, who was reportedly
paid $300,000 for the gig, performed an hour-long set with fellow headliners
Mary Mary, Billy Ocean and KoKo Taylor.
Hisses turned to full-out boos when Ross
started her set with Supremes hits -- and the crowd beyond the first section
couldn't see her -- and the booing continued throughout her set.
