Metal Underground reports: According to a
posting on KISS' official web site, the group's guitarist/vocalist Paul
Stanley confirmed last night (January 28) that KISS will tour Europe this
May and June. They will play arena and stadium shows.
Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported
last month that KISS is strongly rumored to be planning a headlining concert
May 30 at Stockholm Stadion, an outdoor 30,000-seater arena.
Although Swedish promoter EMA Telstar has
reportedly reserved the date as an option for KISS to play at the Stadion,
the show has **NOT** been confirmed as yet, however, and should be treated
as a rumor only.- more

Gigwise reports: Paul McGuiness, the long
time manager of U2, has called on Internet service providers to do more
to help tackle the problem of music piracy.
In an ardent speech at the MIDEM music
conference in Cannes yesterday (January 28th), McGuiness said that persistent
illegal downloaders should be disconnected by their ISP.
"If you were a magazine advertising stolen
cars, handling the money for stolen cars and seeing to the delivery of
stolen cars, the police would soon be at your door," he said. "That's no
different to an ISP, but they say they can't do anything about it." -

Contact Music reports: NORAH JONES is planning
to take 2008 off, after working herself to the point of exhaustion last
year (07).
The singer released a new album, Not Too
Late, in January (08) and spent much of the year touring to promote the
disc.
But she also found the time to squeeze
in her acting debut in director Wong Kar Wai's movie My Blueberry Nights
- and she admits her heavy work schedule has left her in need of a break.-

antiMusic reports: Yes it is indeed a very
slow news day. So here is fun story for you from Contact Music: Former
Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland has labelled her former bandmate Beyonce
Knowles a "slob".
The 26-year-old told music website urbanplanet.co.uk
that touring with the hugely successful three-piece became nightmarish
because of the slovenly habits of Beyonce and Michelle Williams.
"They're both slobs," she explained. "We
would get on a tour bus and they'd flick off their shoes. And I'd be like,
'No! That's the corner for shoes!'- more

Contact Music reports: Rocker PETER GABRIEL
is recovering after breaking his left leg while skiing in Switzerland.
The former Genesis star is now "learning to hobble" around his home in
Wiltshire, England after starting the year (08) in hospital.
Speaking on his official website, the Sledgehammer
singer says, "We went away for a family holiday and I was skiing... I was
with a group of friends who tend to go at some speed... so I thought I'd
get my skis out.
"I hit a rock and I could feel a loud snap
as I broke my leg, and then I skied down to the piste, which was a bit
stupid."- more

Hecklerspray reports: Hannah Montana, or Miley
Cyrus as she's known in real life, isn't actually called Miley Cyrus, she
was born with the name Destiny Hope Cyrus. But Miley Cyrus isn't called
that now, either.
Sorry, that was confusing. Look - Miley
Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana in the TV show Hanna Montana, has just
changed her name from Destiny Hope Cyrus to Miley Ray Cyrus because her
Dad is Billy Ray Cyrus and everyone called her Miley Cyrus anyway and she
liked the 'Ray' part of her Dad's name.
There, that's cleared all the confusion
up. If you've got children, chances are you know who Miley Cyrus is because
your children do nothing but watch her TV show over and over again and
again and again like gawping attention span-deficient monkeys.-

Punknews.org reports: Someone finally realized
that university students are also allowed to get assistance from lawyers
as news has come in that The Oregon attorney general's office is investigating
the Recording Industry Association of America's practices regarding 17
University of Oregon students accused of copyright infringement.
While the AG isn't minimizing the seriousness
of copyright violations, his office has submitted a brief questioning the
data mining tactics and subpoena practices employed by the RIAA.
The office is pushing to essentially cross-investigate
RIAA representatives to ascertain the legality of its investigative practices--a
discovery request that could be very expensive for the RIAA to respond
to.- more

antiMusic reports: Papa Roach frontman Jacoby
Shaddix took to the band's Myspace to break the bad news to fans that drummer
Dave Buckner has indeed left the group as they gear up for a new album.
He writes:
"For y'all that don't know, we had to split
with Dave, our drummer. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had
to do. He's taking this time to get his life together. We are still friends
and still talk on a regular basis. The road is a hard place to live, and
if you are falling apart, it will destroy you. He will be missed. But,
on the other hand, life must go, and if you know anything about Papa Roach,
adversity is the fuel for the flame. Nothing will ever stop us."
He prefaced that news with a tidbit on
the band's recording plans: "I'm really excited to start writing again.
We are going back to the Paramour to write for a month. It's gonna be sick."
Jacody was referring to the famed Silver Lake, Ca recording studio/estate
Paramour Mansion where the band recorded 2006's 'Paramour Sessions". -

antiMusic reports: We ran a story from TMZ
about Britney Spears being committed early Thursday morning. That was posted
after Thurs report was published, and we will not include it in today's
report because TMZ sent over the following updated story:
Sources at UCLA Medical Center tell TMZ
Britney Spears has been classified as "G.D." - Greatly Disabled. That is
a huge and dangerous deal. That means the patient is unable to take care
of basic needs, such as the acquisition of food, clothing or shelter. Being
G.D. is one of the criteria for involuntary commitment.
Several health care professionals tell
us Britney has fallen into a "manic state" due to her bipolar disorder.
We're also told, she arrived at the hospital this morning at around 2:15
AM but wasn't admitted until 4:15 AM, because she was causing such a scene
in the hospital.- Read

Wenn reports: Rap group BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY
has been denied entry into Canada because their music is "too violent".
The Crossroads four-piece were scheduled to play five sold-out dates in
the country but were banned by customs officials on Wednesday (30Jan08).
Rapper Krayzie Bone admits he is surprised
by the move - because the band toured Canada only last year (07). He tells
BallerStatus.com, "We never had a problem going over there, but all of
the sudden, they talking the music is too violent.
"I'm like 'Man, that's crazy because we
doing the same music we've done every time we came over there and nothing
never happened.' "I hear a lot of people is having problems with Canada

There is something primal and
atavistic to real rock, a kind of balls-to-the-wall integrity that can't
be found anywhere else. This is the best concert I've ever seen, so go
