Kayos reports: Armoury Records (through Eagle Rock Entertainment) will release Seven Days Live by Poison- Bret Michaels, Bobby Dall, Rikki Rockett and Richie Kotzen- as captured at the height of their international success with a full show recorded at London's Hammersmith Opollo in 1993. Featuring classic tracks like "Unskinny Bop," "Talk Dirty To Me," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Ain't Nothin' But A Good Time" and more, Seven Days Live is a rare live recording of the Richie Kotzen era of the band, shortly after he replaced original guitarist CC DeVille. Poison became icons of glam in the late '80s/early '90s with a striking visual image and incredible success selling records upwards of 14 million in the U.S. alone. With six Top 10 singles to their credit, they continue to tour to this day. The Pennsylvania band moved to Los Angeles in 1984 and developed a hardcore following along the Sunset Strip (Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash once auditioned as lead guitarist). With plenty of make-up and hairspray, they played their androgyny into major stardom, becoming the house band at popular West Hollywood hang-out The Troubadour. Open Up And Say
Ahh! (1988) made them into international celebrities.

PR reports: Hear Music announced today that it will release James Taylor's exceptional collection of covers from notable recording artists from the fifties, sixties and seventies. The album is aptly titled 'Covers' and will be available at all traditional retail outlets and Starbucks Company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada on September 30. "An album of other peoples' music is something I've been wanting to do for years," says Taylor. "I've enjoyed performing these songs over the years but to record them live in a room with these incredible musicians was just extraordinary."The album was recorded last January when James Taylor gathered his 'Band of Legends' for a rare 10-day recording session in a converted barn on his property in western Massachusetts. Band arrangements of material featured on the album include covers of Big Mama Thornton's version of "Hound Dog," Junior Walker's "(I'm A) Road Runner" and "Wichita Lineman," (one of the most revered country songs penned by Jimmy Webb). These songs were improvised on the spot and recorded live with some of the best players in popular music.

PR reports: "Everyone is looking out for the little piece that they've saved away," sings Pierre de Reeder in "Not How I Believe," the closing track of his debut solo album, The Way That It Was. Already revered by one of music's most passionate fanbases as the bassist for wildly successful indie-pop quartet Rilo Kiley, Pierre is finally ready to share his own "little piece" in a series of poignant and engaging plaintives on love, life and the reflective moments that weave throughout them. The Way That It Was, which will be released on Little Record Company on August 12th, 2008, sees Pierre transition seamlessly into the role of frontman after years on the road and in the studio with his Rilo Kiley bandmates. As one of the band's co-founders, Pierre has been front and center as they have progressed from local fan-favorite to celebrated critical success, with their latest album Under the Blacklight landing at #8 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 albums of 2007 and #10 on Blender's Best Albums of 2007. For his solo debut, Pierre decided to eschew the lush powerpop and smooth beats of the band's current stylings in favor of creating an intimate collection of songs that feed from the singer songwriter tradition of classic folk-rockers like Harry Nilsson. However, the influences of his musical past can be heard in the strong melodic structures and pop sensibilities that permeate the album.

Skye Media reports: Jett Beres, bassist of the band Sister Hazel, plans to release a children's book entitled "Starfish, A Lullaby" on September 23, 2008. Beres plans to self-distribute the book by selling it online at the band's website and at Sister Hazel shows. Additionally, the book will be available online at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and www.StarfishLullaby.com, as well as at select Borders stores. "I am a father," says Beres. "I read to my kids every night when I'm not on tour and understand the importance of reading to children. It will be a thrill to have my own book to read to my kids at night. This is also a great way to introduce children to Sister Hazel through a bedtime story. Our fans are becoming parents now, and this song has always been a fan favorite, especially among children."

Earache reports: Wormwood Chronicles had the opportunity to speak with Biomechanical mastermind, John K about the concepts that intertwine all of the band's records together and the real life concepts that inspired the frenzy of albums like Cannibalised:"The whole thing started in 1999 when I decided I wanted to write a metal album. Before that, I concentrated a lot in studying composition, instrumentation and orchestration so that I would have the right knowledge to get involved in film music. My love for film music led me to write an album that followed a story rather than to write a few songs and then use the most appropriate tracks for the album. The story grew though and I realized that it would be better to get it done on three albums. The titles of the albums were there pretty much from the beginning. Also their content (story wise) and a general idea of the musical style too. Also the concept behind the story that runs through the albums doesnΉt necessarily run from A to B but is used as a vehicle to describe issues that I wanted to talk about through the BIOMECHANICAL music.
