antiMusic reports: You may have noticed a change to the Day in Rock. It is now LIVE! That means that stories are now available as they are posted instead of once a day. So you can check the Day in Rock home page for the very latest happening in the world of music instead of having to wait until tomorrow! The report is broken up into two main sections. The top 3-5 stories will headline the report and they will be followed by the latest stories that have been posted. Because of the now fluid format, the report now spans three pages with some of the bigger stories that were posted earlier in the day may be found on the subsequent pages. Sorry to have to break it up but having all the stories on one page would make for a HUGE download. You can also use the quick menu at the top of the report's main page to see all the headlines. This also means that the link listings for the Day in Rock has changed. Normally stories posted on a Monday would be listed under Tuesday's report. Now they will linked by the day they posted. So if you didn't check the report yesterday you'll find the full report linked on the front page and the side menu. During the first few weeks we will include the full report from the previous day along with today stories on the Day in Rock homepage for your convenience.

antiMusic reports: Continuing our policy of showcasing up and coming artists we proud to turn the focus this week on Brooklyn rockers Amplify. These indie rocker deliver some explosive music that encompasses a lot of different influences which makes them a really compelling list. this week they'll tell us about five of their favorite tracks from their recent release 'Beneath the Beauty Lies...Heaven to Burn'Here they are with today's song: Twilight- This song's subject matter deals with the lack of empathy and emotional numbness that sometimes threatens each of us as human beings living in this modern, so-called "civilized" society where political corruption, racism, wealth and upper-class entitlement threaten the working class. It's protagonist struggles with her feelings of anger, isolation and frailty through Sensual Gratification. From an instrumental standpoint, this particular track was exciting for Bobbie and myself to write because we decided to make this an opportunity to explore different textural dynamics within the passages. The initial writing began with Bobbie playing drums and me throwing riffs at him….Bobbie sang his idea for the chorus….once I transposed it on guitar we started piecing the parts together and were pleased with the results. One of my truly favorite studio memories of tracking was when session player/Chapman Stick master Tony Levin was laying his bass parts down and he turned to us and said, "…exactly how many parts do you have in this particular piece anyway? I guess I'll refer to this section as 'part h'…."
- Check out some of the songs from the CD, learn more about the band and once they've won you over you can buy the CD here as well.

Blabbermouth reports: Disturbed frontman David Draiman has expressed the band's frustration at not being able to preview new songs from their forthcoming album, "Indestructible", due to contractual obligations. He told Rolling Stone's "Rock & Roll Daily" blog, "Isn't that horrible, how things have become? It would be really nice to see how a crowd reacts to the new songs early on, but there's too much dependency on that first week sales number and you can't sacrifice any of the impact of that." With leaked tracks becoming commonplace, the band's label has nixed all but a few of the songs from the June 3 release for live consumption. The band is currently performing "Perfect Insanity", "Inside the Fire", a new-to-live-audiences b-side called "Hell", and the live debut of "This Moment", their "Transformers" soundtrack tune.

antiMusic reports: Idolator smells a conspiracy under foot on American Idol and they say they found proof that the fix is in. And it all revolves around Paula Abdul! Of course the very idea of someone like Abdul judging singing talent would make anyone suspicious. Ol' Paula made a major boo boo bice during Tuesday night's broadcast. Here is what Idolatory had to say about it: Paula Abdul's stupor may have pulled back the curtain on the plot to destroy Jason Castro tonight—it was the first night that the contestants sang two songs each, so they ran through all their initial performances, then came out to be judged at the end of the first half-hour. And Paula used this opportunity to tell Jason, who went first, that while she liked the use of his lower vocal register on "Forever In Blue Jeans," his second song "felt like your usual charm was missing for me... it left me a little empty. The two songs made me feel like you're not fighting hard enough to get into the top four." But he only performed one song! Apparently those second-song comments were meant for David Cook—but then when Paula "recovered" to give Cookie her critique.

antiMusic reports: Think that popstars and 80s glam rockers are the only ones to fall victim to sex tapes? Think again, as a rock icon who has been dead for almost 40 years is the latest celeb to get the sex tape treatment. It's Jimi Hendix and, no, he doesn't say, "'cuse me while I kiss this guy". But one of the two women in the tape might. You'll have to buy it to find out.Idolator has the report: Vivid Entertainment is releasing a 45-minute DVD purporting to be a sex tape of Jimi Hendrix, and from the description, it sounds like the tape is definitely maybe Hendrix. Or an impersonator. Or, y'know, some dude who has an Afro and rings on his fingers. As the New York Times describes it: "The film shows a naked man who resembles Hendrix, the guitar legend who died in 1970, wearing a bandanna in his Afro, having sex with two brunettes in a dimly lighted bedroom. His full face appears on screen for only a few seconds, with his eyes closed. In other portions there are flashes of his profile. But his hands, bedecked with rings, roam large on the screen at times."

antiMusic reports: The famed photographer that took the controversial topless photos of Miley Cyrus has spoken out and she basically says that her "art" was misunderstood. We'll let our friends over at Hecklerspray tell you about it in their own special way: There's an angry mob forming over those 'topless' Miley Cyrus pictures in Vanity Fair - but the question is, whose house shall we burn down first? We can't burn down Miley Cyrus' house because she's already apologised to her fans and blamed all the evil grown-ups for exploiting her - so that just leaves Annie Leibovitz, the woman who took the photos of Miley Cyrus in the first place. Let's get her!Except we can't, because Annie Leibovitz has apologised for the Miley Cyrus photos as well. OK, maybe 'apologised' is a strong word - instead Annie Leibovitz has called everyone stupid for not appreciating the beauty of her art, but she phrased it like an apology. An apology that we accept. We think. Oh, we're so confused. Let's burn down the camera factories! In a statement released on Monday, Annie said: "I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted. Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."
- You don't want to miss Hecklerspray's humorous response (and the stuff we cut out because it's illegal in the U.S.)!

SuicideGirls reports: Maynard James Keenan doesn't do many interviews. But when he does, one thing is certain: it is never your run of the mill chit chat. Last October, SuicideGirls hopped a plane to the Tool frontman's Arizona vineyard and got some amazing insights into winemaking, his creative process, and his latest multimedia, multi-personality project, Puscifer. More recently, last week Maynard stopped by SGHQ for some lively conversation about Puscifer's newest album, V is for Viagra: the Vagina Remixes, out today, April 29th. "I, personally, have only done Viagra once," Maynard revealed. "I took a half a tab and it did nothing. Later that night I took the other half and it did nothing. By the time it actually kicked in I was actually at the airport going through security. Not a fun situation." With V is for Viagra, Maynard wanted to "abandon the idea of the songs being finite" and enlisted an array of musicians to tackle the remixes including Paul Barker (Ministry), Lustmord, Michael Patterson, Aaron Turner (Isis), Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails), and Dave Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy), among others. With titles like "Desert Porn Mix", "Disco Viagra Mix", "Guns for Hire Mix", and "Dirty Robot Mix", the resulting tracks are as varied and unique as the minds that created them.
- But the real fun started when the camera were turned on Maynard and James and Chloe Suicide. Watch that here!

antiMusic reports: Vanilla Ice can breath a sigh of relief now that he's no longer on criminal thin Ice. Here is TMZ with the details: TMZ has just learned that domestic battery charges against Vanilla Ice have been dropped -- completely. Ice -- real name Robert Van Winkle -- is a free man after the April 10 incident, in which he allegedly kicked and hit his wife Laura. According to the court order, Laura recanted her statement and there were no independent witnesses to the battery, so the case got tossed. We're also told that one witness who did come forward said the incident was only verbal.

antiMusic reports: The Offspring are getting a little restless after spending half an Axl to record their new album. So the boys are hitting the festival circuit to get their play on. Right now only a fest dates have been announced and they'll be plugging their new album 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace' which is due to hit stores on June 17, 2008. They'll also be heading to Europe and Rio for assorted gigs. Good natured smartasses that they are, the band jokingly announced a few years back that this album would be called "Chinese Democracy: You Snooze You Lose," poking a bit of fun at Axl Rose's long delayed album. Who knew that it would take Dexter and co five years to follow up "Splinter"?

PR reports: On January 8th 2008, From Autumn To Ashes performed a benefit show at Looney Tunes record store in their hometown area of Long Island, NY and recorded the show for fans that attended the performance. Now the disc will get a wide release on June 17th through Vagrant. "13 years ago I went to Looney Tunes and found a selection of local independent music that I had been unfamiliar with until I saw it on their shelves," said singer, songwriter, and drummer Francis Mark. "This opened up a new world to me. I was just getting into some of the nationally recognized hardcore bands of the time but I didn't realize there was such a scene in my own backyard. People would leave stacks of flyers by the front door and it became a way for me to find out about local shows. I think a good local music scene is made possible not only by the bands and a decent all-ages venue, but also by a solid indie music store. I'm happy to have done something to give back to a place that helped mold me into the person I am today." The 10-track disc features songs from the band's entire catalog, including their latest, Holding A Wolf By The Ears. Fans that attended the show can bring their pre-order slips into Looney Tunes

antiMusic reports: We realize that most of our readers are as bored with stories about the music industry suing their customers as they are with vh1's celeb retardity, but the labels were handed a major setback in court on Tuesday. It turns out that they actually have to prove that the people they sue have broken the law! Imagine that. A federal district court judge in Arizona denied the RIAA attorneys motion for a summery judgment against two Kazaa file sharers, according to Billboard.biz. The court ruled that the two defendants, Pamela and Jeffrey Howell, did not unlawfully distribute copyrighted work by simply making it available on the Kazaa filesharing network. The court said that to qualify for infringement, the owner of the copyright must prove the "actual dissemination of copies or phonorecords." This comes into play in this lawsuit because the music labels sued the defendants for allegedly distributing 54 music files, but the RIAA investigators only downloaded 12 of those files and the label attorneys did not provide evidence that their investigators or other Kazaa users downloaded the remaining 42 files.
