antiMusic reports: He now has an excuse to
call of his retirement. Seems Fiddy has a few more minutes of fame left
in Europe over Kanye West. Gigwise reports: Following defeats to West's
album, 'Graduation,' in both the UK and US, 50 Cent's, 'Curtis,' finally
topped the charts in Europe last Friday (September 21st).
West could only manage the number three
position in the European Charts, after Manu Chao entered at number two
with, 'La Radiolina.'
Despite pulling out of promotional duties
in the aftermath of the chart result in the UK, the rapper has since announced

PR reports: With influences as diverse as
Willie Nelson and Nancy Wilson, Pam Tillis' first holiday release, Just
in Time for Christmas, walks the a fine line between down home country
and uptown torch. "I just wanted to make a Christmas album as comfortable
and familiar as your favorite winter sweater," she says. The album will
be released on the Tillis' own Stellar Cat label, marketed and distributed
by Thirty Tigers. Street date is November 13, 2007.
Following ten years of performing holiday
shows, Tillis found these songs had emerged as favorites for both her and
her live audiences. "Silent Night," "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve,"
"Pretty Paper" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas" are a few of the classic
ingredients in this Tillis holiday treat. In addition to the chestnuts,
she added three new compositions that have the same familiar ring as the
standards. Prone to eclecticism, Pam hung new ornaments of rockabilly,
country, jazz, soul and pop on the tree for good measure.-

PR reports: NJ 5-piece Fell Far Behind's new
album 'Reaching The Red Line' - produced by Chad Blinman (Saves the Day,
From Autumn to Ashes, The Get Up Kids) is currently featured over at Pure
Volume.
With 'Reaching The Red Line', Fell Far
Behind's second full-length release, this south Jersey five-piece displays
high-energy, technical pop punk / rock with overtones of emo and metal
that captures the current spirit of alternative music. Vaulted into the
spotlight from a recent win of the national Garageband.com / Verizon Wireless
"Face Off" competition, the band is seeing an enormous growth of their
fanbase, media coverage, and show attendance.
This visibility attracted producer Chad
Blinman (Saves The Day, The Get Up Kids, Face to Face, From Autumn to Ashes),
who crafted 'Reaching The Red Line' into 8 tracks of clean melodic vocals,
catchy hooks and fast, technical harmony guitar lines. Fell Far Behind's
songwriting ability and diversity also shine with some slower, more indie-influenced
moments including an acoustic effort to conclude the CD.

PR reports: Gene Clark's post-Byrds solo career
did not soar to the heights attained by bandmates Roger McGuinn, David
Crosby or Gram Parsons. Yet, he was widely regarded as the heart and soul
of the original Byrds and a songwriter of affecting minor-key melancholic
ballads with dark, Dylanesque lyrics. He was the writer of "I'll Feel a
Whole Lot Better" (covered by Tom Petty), "Set You Free This Time" and
"She Don't Care About Time" as well as "Train Leaves Here This Morning"
with Bernie Leadon on the Eagles debut album. But by the mid-'80s, he had
no career to speak of, yet he was writing some of his strongest material
ever. Enter Texas-bred singer/songwriter Carla Olson who, along with her
manager Saul Davis, approached him after a gig and proposed they make an
album.
"At that time, Gene's name didn't really
mean much to the general record-buying public," recalls Olson. "And I was
a pretty much unknown singer from a cowpunk band in L.A. Saul was gently
trying to convince Gene that people were not exactly knocking down doors
to sign him. Yet the star thing never left him, bless him. He always held
his head high and dressed to the nines."
Thus began the too-brief second phase of
Clark's career, which included both collaborations with Olson. On October
30, 2007, Collectors' Choice Music will issue a collection of '80s and
'90s music from Clark - more

If I could give Mae just a few
bits of advice, I'd tell them to turn up the guitars, lay off keyboards,
and give simple hard rock a good honest try. I doubt they'll listen to
me. But that's my two cents at least. (2 stars)

The second album by Latin rockers
deSol "On My Way" is appropriately named. Adding the Latin sound to rock
gives the music a whole new feel and de Sol are certainly on the way to
success. -
