antiMusic reports: Invitro is the new project
from ex-Snot/Soulfly guitarist Mikey Doling that made quite a name for
themselves on the Family Values tour this summer. Their debut ' When I
Was A Planet' hit stores this month and to celebrate we asked frontman
Jeff Weber to pick his favorite five tracks from the CD and tell us a little
bit about each one. We'll now turn it over to him for today's song "ridiculist":
Recording ridiculist was amazing because
of how quickly and easily we were able to get the vocals on the track.
We were ready to leave the studio and decided we'd try to finish just one
more song. It was probably around three in the morning when we started,
and by four thirty we were done.
We listened back to the track at then end
of the night, not sure of what we thought at the time. We knew we'd had
a good time recording it, so we decided to go home and sleep on it. When
we woke up in the morning and listened again we were all pleased and glad
that we'd stayed.
Got you interested? Then check it out and
learn more about the group right- here

antiMusic reports: It's not a poorly written
Fox nighttime soap although it may seem very similar to one. No, it's the
life of pop singer Britney Spears and in this week's episode the falling
pop tart gets criminally charged with hit and run and driving without a
license after hitting a parked car and driving off on her marry way. Maybe
she was late to lip-synching practice?
Apparently Spears played bumper Mercedes
outside a vitamin store in Studio City back on August 6th. Her Mercedes
reportedly dinged a parked Mercedes and she was photographed getting out
of her car to examine the damage before she decided to hit the road. The
owner of the car that Britney hit, hoped that the poptart would somehow
do the right thing and make good on the damages but after three days, gave
up hope and filed a police report. - more

antiMusic reports: It turns out that Mastodon
guitarist Brent Hinds' mysterious head injury suffered following the MTV
Video Music Awards wasn't inflicted by random thugs, it seems the injuries
that landed him in a Las Vegas hospital came courtesy of System of a Down
bassist Shavo Odadjian and musician by the name of William Hudson.
A quick refresher for those that do not
remember the original report, Hinds suffered brain hemorrhaging, a broken
nose, and two black eyes as a result of the beating. The Las Vegas weekly
did some digging and found out more about the incident as well as who is
involved, they report: "an inebriated Hinds was leaving Mandalay Bay around
3 a.m. when he encountered Odadjian and musician William Hudson at the
hotel's west valet area. Hinds took off his shirt and hit Odadjian with
it, then struck Hudson in both the face and chest, prompting Odadjian to
advise Hinds 'to relax,' several times.
"The police report then indicates both
Odadjian and Hudson punched Hinds in the face, knocking him to the ground.
An unidentified friend of Hinds, who reportedly witnessed the event, rushed
to the musician's aid and apologized to Odadjian and Hudson, saying Hinds
was 'just drunk,' according to the police report. Odadjian and Hudson were
both questioned by police on the scene. No charges had been filed at press
time, though the police report lists Hudson as a 'suspect,' facing a possible
charge of 'battery with substantial bodily harm.' The police report lists
Odadjian as a 'witness.'"- Read

antiMusic reports: You have to love Johnny
Rotten, he spent last week blasting other "reunited" bands like the Police
as he jumps on the reunion band wagon himself. Seems Brit fans are rather
keen on seeing the Sex Pistols as their one-off reunion show to celebrate
the anniversary of the release of "Never Mind the Bollocks" sold out. As
a result they have added two more dates but more than doubled the ticket
price. Punk at Gucci prices.
The original show scheduled for November
8th at the Brixton Academy sold out in just 10 minutes and never refusing
a chance to cash-in in true punk style, the Sex Pistols (John Lydon, Steve
Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock) added to new dates at the venue for
the following two nights BUT while the original show was priced at £37.50
a ticket (roughly $75 bucks), these new shows seemed aimed at the richer
punks with tickets going for £85 (roughly $170) according to Gigwise.-

antiMusic reports: Richie Ramone "Can't Say
Anything Nice" about the songs from his short tenure in The Ramones being
licensed for online sales with him not getting a cut. He filed a lawsuit
again leading online music merchants, the estate of late guitarist Johnny
Ramone, the music publishing company and the band's management company.
Richie, real name Richard Reinhardt claims
in his lawsuit filed in the federal court in Manhattan that he is the author
of six Ramones songs - "Smash You," "Somebody Put Something In My Drink,"
"Human Kind," "I'm Not Jesus," "I Know Better Now" and "(You) Can't Say
Anything Nice."
His lawsuit is seeking "at least $900,000
in damages, all profits the defendants made from the songs, and a permanent
injunction prohibiting the defendants from using the songs in the future,"

antiMusic reports: T.S.O.L. appear to be back
at it and will head out on the road with Mercy Killers in Rocktober for
a West Coast tour that will kick off in Spokane Washington on October 10th
and conclude on October 21st in San Francisco. We're not sure of the lineup
for T.S.O.L. on this outing.
While the T.S.O.L. camp has only posted
two dates so far on their Myspace (their website is hopelessly out of date),
Mercy Killers' Myspace lists quite a few more which include stops in Seattle,
Portland, Eugene, Tempe Az, San Luis Obispo, Fresno, San Jose and San Francisco.
(MK's former website is now in cybersquarters hands).
T.S.O.L. are a few years away from their
last CD release so we're not sure if we could consider this tour in support
of "Divided We Stand" and Mercy Killers appear to be touring behind their
2006 effort "Bloodlove".- dates

PR reports: With HANSON's fourth studio album,
The Walk, which debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard's Independent Chart,
the band kicked off their nearly sold-out The Walk Tour this week in Nashville.
Additional dates have just been announced and will go on sale next week.
After recording the song, "Great Divide"
in Africa (the proceeds of which are donated to AIDS relief in Africa),
HANSON is continuing their efforts by teaming with TOMS Shoes on a unique
initiative to help with the fight against poverty in Africa. On The Walk
Tour, HANSON and TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie will be speaking about the
importance of taking simple action, like purchasing a pair of TOMS shoes
(for each pair purchased, a pair is given to a child in need). Shoes will
be made available on each tour stop. Said TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie,
"the message (and beauty) of TOMS is that massive change is possible...we
need only work together and each contribute a little bit. I cannot think
of a better partner to help spread this message than HANSON."-
