Opeth to release The Roundhouse Tapes in Nov
PR reports: Peaceville Records is proud to announce the forthcoming release by one of the metal world's greatest acts. Opeth: The Roundhouse Tapes which will hit stores on November 20th 2007. 'The Roundhouse Tapes' contains a captivating Opeth performance from the Camden Roundhouse, London, UK, on November 9th, 2006 (a gig which also featured Goth metal legends Paradise Lost), and sees the band in scintillating form churning out a selection of classics from their illustrious career. You know what to expect from Opeth: unrivalled composition; seamless progressive dynamics and boundless atmosphere from the mellow to the incredibly heavy, all sealed with the unmistakable vocal presence of mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt.

Since their formation in 1990 in Sweden, Opeth has risen to the forefront of the metal world over the years; bringing many aspects of progressive rock/metal to a whole new audience by combining soft acoustic ambience with complex, melodic & heavy guitar often familiar to forms of death/black metal, perfectly concocted into a completely peerless sound. A constant factor of their success is that the band have never been afraid to experiment with their song-writing ever since their debut album, 'Orchid', in 1994, all the while taking us through some truly magical & hypnotic soundscapes over the years.- more on this story

Silverstein McNugget Peta2 Tour
PR reports: Silverstein is teaming up with peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights organization, for their upcoming "I Am Not a Nugget" tour. The Victory Records band will hit up 28 cities during its month-long trek, which starts on October 2 in Rockford, Ill., and finishes up on November 4 in Asbury Park, N.J. Joining Silverstein on the tour are From Autumn to Ashes, Strike Anywhere, Dance Gavin Dance, and A Day to Remember. The tour marks peta2's very first tour title sponsorship.

Silverstein's tour comes on the heels of the release of their latest album, Arrivals and Departures, which debuted at number 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200 in July. At each stop along the tour, peta2 will have a booth where concertgoers can pick up literature and stickers as well as sign the "I Am Not a Nugget" petition. The petition calls on the government to include chickens in the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act, which would require that the animals be stunned before their throats are cut—as opposed to current methods, which include hanging chickens in shackles and slitting their throats while they are still conscious.- dates

Adult Swim Tours
PR reports: Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's highly rated late-night programming block for young adults, today announces its first two nationwide concert tours. In usual Adult Swim style, the 24-campus music tour promises to be like no other.

On October 1, a 12-campus hip-hop tour begins with a concert at the State University of New York campus in Albany, featuring Ghostface Killah and Witchdoctor. On October 29, a 12-campus heavy metal tour lets loose with headliner And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Opening for Trail of Dead is none other than Dethklok, the heavy metal band from Adult Swim's Metalocalypse television series.

Dethklok and its band members are the stars of the popular Adult Swim animated series, Metalocalypse, the brainchild of creators Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha. For the Adult Swim tour, Small, who is the lead vocalist, brings the animated characters to life with a real live band. Dethklok's first album, "Metalocalypse: Dethklok The Dethalbum," will be released on Williams Street September 25.

HateSphere Voiceless
antiMusic reports: HateSphere had a bit of a change. They issued the following statement: As a result of personal issues, HateSphere and vocalist Jacob Bredahl have parted ways. This has been in the air for a little while now and is without doubt, the best decision for the band. Having to tour with a person who's not able to give it one hundred percent in the future and vice versa is pointless. We'd like to thank Jacob for 10 years of hard work and good times, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours! This may come as a shock for many of you but we can only emphasize that HateSphere will continue and are already in the midst of auditioning new singers.
"In effect of this and some unanticipated, economical circumstances, we have been forced to cancel our upcoming European tour with Dimmu Borgir and Amon Amarth. We are very sorry for that but have seen no other solution, as it would be too difficult to find a new singer in only ten days. The gigs we have after the tour will not be affected by this, and we promise you all to come back soon and make it up to you.

"Jacob and Pepe have always been a part of what is called HateSphere, so no question that this is also weird for the rest of the band. As you probably know, Pepe has always been writing practically all the music, so as far as that matter goes, it shouldn't mean that much. Also, the song writing for the next album is about to start and we are looking forward to work together as a new and revitalized group. - more on this story

Ill Bill Delayed
PR reports: ILL BILL regretfully announces that his forthcoming sophomore effort, The Hour of Reprisal, has been pushed back until early 2008. The hour-long album, which is to be accompanied by a full-length DVD of ILL BILL live at the legendary (and tragically shuttered) CBGB, features guest appearances by the likes of Raekwon the Chef, B-Real, Immortal Technique, Tech N9ne and Necro, as well as members of the Bad Brains, Killswitch Engage, La Coka Nostra, Jedi Mind Tricks, HERO and Sepultura/Soulfly. Tracks for the set were composed by Muggs, DJ Premier, Lethal, Necro, T-Ray, Cynic, and Sicknature, with a majority of the production coming courtesy of ILL BILL himself. Bill offers "I am extremely proud of this album…it is the most personal music I've ever made." He adds "this record is an uncompromising snapshot of my entire life and the world around me at this very moment."

Originally scheduled for release on September 11th via Bill's own Uncle Howie Records in cooperation with Perfect Game Recording Co./Warner Music Group, The Hour of Reprisal did not hit the stores as scheduled due to WMG's decision to discontinue the Perfect Game label. However, ILL BILL and former Perfect Game general manager Howie Abrams have joined forces to find an appropriate home for the album. - more on this story

Idiot Pilot Digital
PR reports: Idiot Pilot, an atmospheric rock duo from Bellingham, WA, will release a digital version of their second album for Reprise Records, titled Wolves, on October 2nd, via online retailers, with the CD in stores January 22, 2008. The band, which consists of longtime friends and bandmates Daniel Anderson and Michael Harris, will hit the road on October 4th for a two-week U.S. tour with Warner Bros. Records label-mates The Spill Canvas, and in November, will follow up with a tour alongside friends Drop Dead Gorgeous until the end of the year.

Wolves represents many firsts for the duo. As opposed to their locally produced debut, Strange We Should Meet Here -- which was recorded on pirated software in Anderson's bedroom when the two were still in their teens, and later re-released on Reprise in 2005 -- Wolves looks to outside sources for production and collaboration (Ross Robinson, and Mark Hoppus).

In addition, Wolves - with its soaring symphonic opener "Last Chance" and anthemic rockers "In Record Shape" and "Red Museum" - marks the first time both Harris and Anderson were completely collaborative musically, still playing a majority of the instruments between just the two of them. Live drums were featured courtesy of Blink-182/Transplants/+44 drummer Travis Barker on "Elephant" and the Dillinger Escape Plan's Chris Pennie on the remaining tracks. - more on this story

PR reports: With 'Reaching The Red Line', Fell Far Behind's second full-length release, this south Jersey five-piece displays high-energy, technical pop punk / rock with overtones of emo and metal that captures the current spirit of alternative music. Vaulted into the spotlight from a recent win of the national Garageband.com / Verizon Wireless "Face Off" competition, the band has seen an enormous growth of their fanbase and show attendance. Reaching The Red Line available in stores September 18th 2007

Produced by Chad Blinman (Saves The Day, The Get Up Kids, Face to Face, From Autumn to Ashes), 'Reaching The Red Line' is 8 tracks of clean melodic vocals, catchy hooks and fast, technical harmony guitar lines. BLESTeNATION Free Mixtape
PR reports: BLESTeNATION have been called 'hip hop for rock fans'; their sound is a combination of samples of some timeless rock classics (Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love", Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion", Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing", etc.) and lyrics with a message, rapped and sung.

For the track "The Way It Is" they recruited Travis Barker of Blink 182 and +44 fame. Here is part of the PR blurb about them: Some say three's a crowd, but this trio knows there's enough room for everyone. A shared talent for spitting lyrics gave MCs Various and Werdplay a reason to conspire. "I walked up to Various at a house party, started talking, and a week later, we had this whole s*** set up," says the emotive lyricist Werdplay. The duo met Fafu and added him to the lineup as their resident DJ and beatmaker. With a sonic mixture of gritty appeal and comic relief on rock-rapinspired beats, BLESTeNATION was born.

"It's the combination of what we do together and our outlook on life," says Fafu of the group's best qualities. From touring with Scarface and Erik Sermon to rocking the warped tour; from collaborating with Method Man and Kardinal Offishall to working with Page Hamilton (Helmet),Travis Barker and many others, Bleste puts in more work than a crack ho before Christmas.

....Review: Wormburner - A Hero's Welcome
It's not the feelings, beats, riffs, or choruses that make Wormburner new noise though- the stories combined with the aforementioned scenery make them new and, to this point, unmatched. (4 stars) - Read the full Wormburner - A Hero's Welcome review
