PR reports: Ministry front man Al Jourgensen
has been confirmed to score, music supervise and create the soundtrack
for the upcoming horror feature film "Wicked Lake," according to the film's
executive producers Carl Morano and John Carchietta of Fever Dreams, the
feature's production company.
"Wicked Lake," which Jourgensen described
as "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill gone very, very bad," is the sordid supernatural
tale of a group of four co-ed girls on a weekend getaway tailed by two
clans of deranged male predatory perverts. Jourgensen is also set to perform
a small role in the film as a perverted art professor. "Not exactly a stretch
for me," states Jourgensen.
Tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2008
release, "Wicked Lake" is directed by Jourgensen's good friend, filmmaker
Zach Passero.- more

PR reports: On October 14 the hotly anticipated
Warner Brothers Records film Runnin' Down A Dream: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
will have its first public screening. Directed by cinema legend Peter Bogdanovich
(The Last Picture Show), Runnin' Down A Dream has been selected to close
the 2007 New York Film Festival.
Runnin' Down A Dream tells a great American
story, that of a band that came from the middle of nowhere to win the hearts
of millions. The film focuses not only on the Heartbreakers' inspiring
ride to the top but the story of what they did when they got there, as
artists, as a band, as people. Bogdanovich's film explores many of the
underlying reasons for the band's unparalleled capacity not only to endure
but to thrive. Gritty, exuberant, infectious: Runnin' Down A Dream tells
the Heartbreakers' story as never before. The New York Film Festival screening
will take place at the legendary Walter Reade Theater on October 14. Beginning
October 15, Runnin' Down A Dream will be screened at select theaters nationwide.
A list of cities and participating theaters will be announced shortly.-

PR reports: In support of his brand-new solo
album Bluefinger which is released tomorrow, September 11 (Cooking Vinyl),
BLACK FRANCIS, formerly known as Frank Black, formerly lead singer of the
iconic Pixies, will do a very special 14-concert west coast run beginning
on Monday, October 1 with two nights in Portland, OR at the Fir Lounge.
The tour will also include multiple nights in Los Angeles, Vancouver and
San Francisco. Black Francis will be joined on this trek by the talented
group of musicians who recorded Bluefinger - Violet Clark/vocals, Dan Schmid/bass,
and Jason Carter/drums, and of course Black Francis on guitar, harmonica
and vocals.
Imbued by the spirit of the late eccentric
Dutch painter/musician Herman Brood, Frank Black donned his decades-old
moniker of Black Francis and recorded eleven songs - ten by Black Francis,
one a Brood cover - for Bluefinger. "I privately went back to the old stage
name, if that even makes any sense, almost as a joke," explains Black Francis.
"I couldn't get the Pixies back into a studio, but I would transform into
my alter ego of yesteryear." - dates
