antiMusic reports: Normally when we do an
artist Top 5 list we stretch it out over a week but we have a special edition
today where we give you System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian's stories
about his five favorite tracks from his brand new solo CD 'Elect The Dead'
which hits stores tomorrow. Here is Serj:
Honking Antelope: Imagine an antelope
driving a truck with a human tied to its front hood. A metaphorical statement
of a world upside down. Civilization is over! What shall we be now?
Elect the Dead: This song is in the
vein of the direction I'm leaning toward
orchestral, stripped down, gut
wrenching acoustic tracks with powerful emotive reflections.
Lie Lie Lie: If we can't laugh in the
end, we miss the whole point of life.
The Unthinking Majority: A song that's
dually critical of our leaders and of our reality escapism (causing us
to elect such leaders). A very blatant punk ethos political song.
Beethoven's C*nt: A very classical music
based rock song that stretches from the micro to the macro in interpretation.

about the album and find out where you can see Serj live-

antiMusic reports: It looks like unlike the
real Jesus, a rock n roll Jesus doesn't turn the other cheek as Kid Rock
got more than breakfast Sunday morning when he and his crew stopped at
a restaurant following a show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta- he got arrested.
Kid Rock was involved in a brawl with another patron of the restaurant
and like Rock's recent one-sided run-in with Tommy Lee where he bitch-slapped
the Motley Thru drummer, this fight was apparently over a woman as well.
"He and five members of his entourage were
involved in a fight with a male customer inside the Waffle House," said
Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb County Police Department told
the Associated Press.
Apparently Rock and his entourage entered
The Waffle House in the company of a woman that a male customer recognized.
The customer then exchanged some words with her and "it escalated to a
physical altercation between Kid Rock and that male customer and moved
outside to the parking lot," Parish said. The male customer had bad aim
because instead of punching out Kid Rock he knocked out a window.
Kid Rock and his crew quickly hopped on
their tour bus and left the restaurant but were pulled over shortly afterwards
where he and five members of his entourage were arrested for misdemeanor
battery.- more

antiMusic reports: Kid Rock isn't the only
one that had a recent run in with the law. Poppunkers Amber Pacific fought
the law in Philly last week and the law almost won. Quick replay: Band
stands outside of venue following show- cop asks band to move along twice-
band mouths off to cop- cop questions a band member's manhood- the emo
hits the fan. The band's touring guitarist Rick Hansen posted a blog on
Myspace with the blow by blow:
I'm writing here to set the story straight
about an incident a few of you have heard about after our show in Philadelphia
at the Fillmore this past Tuesday, the 16th. A basic summary of the night
would be our drummer Dango was a victim of completely unnecessary force
used by a Philadelphia Police officer for absolutely no reason. If you
are queasy about swearing, as used by this officer and others, you can
stop here. If you want the whole story, read on!
After our show, as we always do, we waited
by our merch table to meet anyone and everyone who would like to say hi,
get a picture, or get something signed. We were told after a few minutes
by venue security that there wasn't enough room near our merch area, and
that we would have to go outside to the sidewalk. We went outside in front
of the venue to meet and greet. After a few minutes, a Philadelphia Police
officer came by with his bike, and threw his bike in front of the kids
waiting in line, and gruffly told everyone to move, as blocking the entrance
was a fire hazard. - the

Hecklerspray reports: Amy Winehouse was arrested
[Thurs] night in Norway - but what for? Did Amy Winehouse a) give a baby
a name that wasn't on the official Norwegian government's baby-name list,
b) get caught with a small amount of drugs on her or c) punch a goose right
in its stupid face? Of course, it's the second one - Amy Winehouse was
arrested in Norway for the possession of seven grams of marijuana and fined
500 Euros, allowing all the stupid geese in the world free to fly around
quacking for another day, the feathery wankers.
Looked at objectively, musicians shouldn't
bother going to Scandinavia. Perhaps it's the screwy daylight hours, the
overpriced booze or the proliferation of herring-based meals, but there's
something about that corner of Europe that sends musicians slightly loopy.
When Snoop Dogg went to Sweden he was arrested
on a drug offence and when Axl Rose went to Sweden he ended up chewing
on someone's leg. Right now Amy Winehouse is in Norway and, although she's
done just about the dullest thing she's managed to do for months, she's
still been arrested for it.- more

PR reports: Ministry's bassist Paul Raven
was found dead Saturday in a private home in a small French village on
the Swiss border. Initial reports indicate Raven's passing was due to a
heart attack. Raven (known also for his work with Killing Joke, Prong)
was in Geneva working with French recording artists Treponem Pal on their
new release, with Marco Neves, Ted Parsons (Prong) and members of The Young
Gods.
States Jourgensen: "I am in total shock.
The world of music is a sadder, emptier place. Not only was Raven an extraordinary
talent, but one of my closest dearest friends. Our condolences and prayers
go to his immediate family. He will be truly missed by artists, musicians
and his fans the world over.
"The one consolation is knowing Raven's
already hooked up with the right people and started a new project in the
After Life. God's speed, Raven. Rest In Peace, you f*cking pirate."-

antiMusic reports: Korn's revolving tour guitarist
slot has revolved again as Clint Lowery (Sevendust, Dark New Day) has left
the band reportedly due to a family emergency.
"Everything's fine- just had to get home,"
Lowery reportedly wrote on his MySpace page. "Hated to leave. Love all
the KORN guys and had a blast with them."
Shane Gibson will reportedly take Lowery's
place. Gibson was tapped by Korn frontman Jonathan Davis to play with him
on his upcoming solo acoustic tour but it looks like he has been called
into the game early. - more

antiMusic reports: It looks like Relient K's
drummer curse is back as Dave Douglas will soon hand in his drumsticks.
The band announced on Friday that Dave is leaving the group at the conclusion
of their current tour.
The band made the announcement on their
Myspace blog. Here it is: After seven years of touring, recording, and
rehearsing, Dave Douglas has decided to leave Relient K. His final show
will be 12/29. As a part of Relient K, he has been an amazing drummer,
singer, collaborator, and friend. Before Dave joined the band, we were
plagued with drummer turnover.
Although he was the fifth drummer in two
years, the moment he joined was the first time we ever felt like a complete
band. He will be missed on the stage and on the road, and we wish him all
the best.- Myspace

antiMusic reports: Universal Pictures has
reportedly greenlighted a Kurt Cobain biopic based on Charles Cross' book
Heavier Than Heaven. A book that was criticized by many Nirvana fans as
being biased in Courtney Love's favor. The film will likely follow suit
as Love will act as an executive producer.
Variety reported last week that Universal
Pictures has hired screenwriter David Benioff to adapt Cross' Cobain biography
for the big screen. His other credits include "Stay," "Troy," and "25th
Hour" as well as the as-yet-released "The Kite Runner" and "X-Men Origins:
Wolverine." Working Title and Ben Silverman's Reveille will co-produce
the film. Don't expect the film to be very critical of Cobain's widow Courtney
Love as she has signed on as an executive producer. Her attorney Howard
Weitzman has also been named as an executive producer.
The book the film will be based on has
been criticized on a few fronts by the Cobain faithful. The Wikipedia entry
for the book says "While arguably the most complete Cobain biography, Cross
opted to include his own impression of what Cobain's final days were like.
Several people questioned the inclusion of fiction in what was claimed
to be a non-fiction book.[3] At the same time, Cross' desire for the book
to be as complete as possible meant that he occasionally accepted secondhand
(and incorrect) information as fact.[4] The book was criticized as being
a collaboration between Love and Cross by such friends as Everett True,
who derided the book as being inaccurate, omissive, and highly biased,
calling it 'the Courtney-sanctioned version of history'". -

antiMusic reports: As you might expect Annie
Lennox attracks some weirdos to her concerts. But last week she discovered
that while "Sweet Dreams are Made of This" (whatever this is, Bill Clinton
couldn't tell us) nightmares are made of an audience member sporting a
gas mask.
Gigwise has the report: The Eurythmics'
Annie Lennox fled from the stage at a gig in Colorado earlier this week
after she spotted a fan wearing a cape and a gas mask in the audience.
The incident happened near the end of Lennox's performance at the Macky
Auditorium on Tuesday (October 16th).
After fleeing the stage, Lennox only returned
once the 32-year old man had been removed from the venue, reports WENN.
When she returned to the stage, Lennox apparently deemed the man "Mr Nightmare
On Elm Street" before completing the rest of her set.-

antiMusic reports: We ran a story last week
after a fan came to us asking us to get the word out about a petition to
Jon Bon Jovi over the Bon Jovi fan club because members had issues with
how things have been run since Jon's mother retired and turned the club
over to his brother. The article struck a chord and became the most read
news article this month. It also appeared to help get the word out to members
about the petition who had no way of knowing about it because of the heavy
censorship of the message board within the club. We were told about this
petition a couple weeks ago and when we checked it at that time it only
had 12 signatures. By the time we ran the article it had a handful more.
But once we ran our story the person that started the petition backed out
because of "bad publicity" and killed it, but it did reach 142 signatures
before it was closed.
Somehow we became the bad guys because
we made some fan concerns public. How that logic works, who knows? It must
be better to suffer in silence and take your lumps. Many members of the
club did email us after our story ran. Most had some major complaints and
some with even bigger issues then the person that originally contacted
us. A couple of people defended the club and said some members are overreacting.
We will run two letters from each side this week in a special "letters
to the editor" article, so both sides can state their case and you can
draw your own conclusions. Hopefully, the public scrutiny will do some
good and someone within the Bon Jovi empire might take notice and give
the fans more of what they want (or at least what they were promised if
what some members have told is true). Perhaps this public address of those
concerns can do a lot more than an online petition with a dozen signatures.
Maybe it won't make a difference because people will still be willing to
empty their wallets for their favorite band and the band knows it.
Here was the retraction from the Bon Jovi
Fan Club member that started the petition: With regret I have now closed
this petition. The purpose of this petition was to bring the grievances
of fan club members to the attention of Jon Bon Jovi to allow him the opportunity
to make changes. It was never intended to create bad publicity for Jon
or the band. Jon has offered his fans generosity and respect for over 20
years. I am very disappointed that this important fact has been overlooked
by the individuals who brought this petition and their complaints to the
attention of the media. Hopefully Jon has by now become aware of the problems
facing the new fan club. I have no doubt that once he is fully informed
about the issues, he will ensure the necessary changes are made.-

antiMusic reports: Did the little label that
couldn't not surprisingly drop the ball with Godhead's last release "The
Shadow Line"? Perhaps, but we do know for sure that Godhead have picked
up that ball and plan to take it somewhere else. The good news continue
for the band as they announced some Korny tour news as well.
Here is what the band had to say: Godhead
and Cement Shoes Records have parted ways. Godhead is currently writing
their new album and preparing for their winter tour with Jonathan Davis
of Korn.
That tour is Davis' acoustic tour which
is starting in early November and continuing into mid December. There will
also be some selected Godhead headlining shows as well.-

BBC reports: Rapper TI's lawyers have requested
his release on a $2.2m (£1m) bond, allowing him to be monitored and
confined at home before his weapons charges trial.
TI, 27, is charged with unlawfully possessing
firearms, unregistered machine guns and silencers.
US magistrate Judge Alan Baverman said
he would reserve ruling on the request until 26 October when lawyers must
produce a court-approved home monitor.

BW&BK reports: CRADLE OF FILTH frontman
Dani Filth has issued the following statement regarding several fake MySpace
profiles that have cropped up in recent weeks:
"Sorry to be such a glum potato but it
has come to my attention that there have been some people impersonating
me on MySpace (though God alone knows why, it is the very nadir of lowliness
really if you think about it...).
Therefore I am letting those miserable
