antiMusic reports: This week we asked The
Last Goodnight's Kurtis John to tell us about his five favorite tracks
from their major label debut Poison Kiss. Today Kurtis tells about "Stay
Beautiful":
Stay Beautiful was another song
that was written early on once we were in LA. The grooves in this song
are among my favorite on the album. I felt that this was the first song
I wrote where we had an upbeat tempo musically, and vocally the performance
was as upbeat and on point.
Live we've been able to play with it
a little more and have fun with the song as a band. I knew it was something
special when I'd have it in my car playing, and people would ask who and
what it was without me telling them that it was our music.

the band, tour dates and more right- here

Metal Underground reports: According to Billboard.com,
NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor is about to get busy in the studio
working on the follow-up to this year's "Year Zero", a process he couldn't
begin until the expiration of the band's deal with Interscope due to contractual
reasons.
In addition, Billboard understands Reznor,
in keeping with past practices, will not decide how to actually release,
market and promote the next album until the music is finished.
There will be new NINE INCH NAILS product
before the end of the year, however. The remix album "Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D"
is due November 20 via Interscope and feature remakes of "Year Zero" songs
by Fennesz, the Faint, Ladytron and Saul Williams, among others.-

Gigwise reports: A couple of weeks back we
unveiled our favourite album covers. This time, we're unearthing all the
nasties from down the years to bring you the 50 worst album covers of all
time.
The quite delightful pieces of artwork
featured on the list include cross dressing, garish costumes, Eighties
disasters, Beastiality, David Bowie parodies, boring bastards, horny grannies
and prophetic terrorist acts. The lot.
Not just limited to bands from over the
decades, more recent culprits include Razorlight, Hard-Fi and the return
of the might MC Hammer.- 50,
35 and 19 are a riot! No. 4 should have been No 1. Truely warped. See the
list but be warned do not view on a full stomach

BW&BK reports: Psychedelic rockers Bigelf
has set an October 30th North American release date for its cult, underground
album Hex. Recorded in 2003, Hex will now be available domestically for
the first time ever via the Custard label.
Flaunting a sound that interfuses all the
best elements from the late 60's/early 70's rock movement, Bigelf create
timeless songs that drip with surging guitar riffs, remarkable Hammond
organ playing and some of the best vocal harmonies heard this side of Abbey
Road. Often described as "a cross between PINK FLOYD and BLACK SABBATH"
and "The Evil Beatles", Bigelf channels all of its influences and delivers
music that shares an appeal with metal enthusiasts, classic hard rock fans
and vintage prog-heads alike. Bigelf has firmly established its own identity
through years of developing and modifying their own DNA into a powerful
new kind of music in the tradition of the great rock acts from the past
and is a cutting edge, musical experience unlike anything else out there
today.
On the Stateside release of Hex, Bigelf
frontman/keyboardist Damon Fox explains, "Whenever I talk about Hex I like
to quote the fans. An Elfhead in Brazil once told me, 'Without bands like
Bigelf there will be no future. Rock needs heart, strength and open minds.
The masters of the past have shown us the way. It's easy, we just need
to be honest and do the right thing.' Wow, I couldn't of said it better
myself." He continues, "People today want real music. They're almost dying
for it. We're prepared to bring it and change people's lives just like
Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin did 30 years ago. I'm serious." -
[this
is definitely a CD to grab if you're a rock fan. See them live if you get
the chance too, you won't regret it!] more on this story
