She Wants Revenge Week: Pretend The World Has Ended
antiMusic reports: She Wants Revenge recently returned with their sophomore CD This Is Forever. to celebrate the release and to give you a little more insight into the songs we asked Adam Bravin to pick his five favorite tracks from the duo's latest and tell us a bit about each song. Here is Adam with today's song:

Pretend The World Has Ended - I was sitting in the studio one day, feeling rather dark and moody and decided to try to match my mood musically. Normally the way our songs start, is with the drums. This particular track started with the bassline. I found an amazing bass sound and took it from there. The idea behind this track, musically, was to try to create something very dark, very ominous, perhaps the darkest track on the album.

Still want some more? You can preview tracks from the CD, grab tour dates, watch videos and more - right here

Osbourne Vs Love Legal Battle
antiMusic reports: Here is an interesting turn of events in the Sharon Osbourne Vs Courtney Love battle in the press. Seems things have turned into a legal battle, at least that's what Sharon hinted at in an un-attributed quote in a Contact Music article. We trying to trackdown the source of the quote but could not. With that said, here is the Contact Music report:

Sharon Osbourne's public feud with Courtney Love has gone silent - because the matter has become a legal spat. Osbourne accused Love of introducing her then-teenage son Jack to drugs, which led to "a really, really ugly situation" and culminated with the reality TV star checking into rehab.

Love has blasted Osbourne for her comments, insisting she's not responsible for Jack's drug habit. And now Osbourne admits she can no longer talk about her bitter feelings for Love: "It's kind of got to the point where it's now in legal hands, so we can't talk about it, because it's gone to that stage." - More Sharon news from Contact Music

antiMusic reports: We told you on Monday about how Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea lost his $4.8 million Malibu home to recent fire in the region. Flea was not living at the home, in fact he had it on market for sale but we have learned that he was renting it to former Marvalous 3 frontman turned ubber producer Butch Walker (Advil Latrine, Fall Out Boy, etc etc) and Walker said in a statement that he lost everything in the blaze.

According to reports, A family friend was forced to evacuate Walker's family from the home, while the singer/songwriter/producer was in New York City on tour.

Walker said the following in a statement sent to MTV "I had just consolidated my entire recording studio from Atlanta into the house in Malibu. I lost everything I've ever owned. Every master of every song I've ever recorded, every piece of recording equipment, guitars, drums and things I've collected over the years, cars, motorcycles, every family memorial, heirloom, picture, and document we ever had....Gone. I feel like I finally know the difference between 'going back' and 'going home.'" - Original report on the fire

Jaz-Z Puts Little Thought Into Lyrics
Gigwise reports: Jay-Z has joked that his approach to writing lyrics has inspired a generation of bad lyricists. The US rapper has revealed that he hasn't written down the lyrics to a song since, 'Can I Live' – which appeared on his 1996 debut album, 'Reasonable Doubt.'

"What happened was, I was doing that song with someone else, and they heard the first verse and they was like, 'Man, you take that song. Finish it, 'cause it sounds like you got a lot more to say,'" the rapper told MTV.

"You know, that type of thing. So I just wanted to get it down quick, I didn't want to keep going over it. It was like [the album's] mastering time, so I just sat down in the booth and wrote that [verse]."

The rapper added that he prefers to allow the lyrics to flow when he's listening to music in the studio. - more on this story

Hotel California Mystery Explained
antiMusic reports: Their is a cottage industry devoted to trying to decipher the meaning to The Eagles' "Hotel California." They vary from it being about a California mental institution to our favorites dealing with Satanism. Don Henley told 60 Minutes Steve Kroft that the truth of the lyrics are actually rather boring. But before we get to that conversation, here are a couple of the wild theories that were emailed to Urban Legend site Snoops.com:

There's a rumor that's been around for some time concerning the Eagles' song "Hotel California". The basic premise is that the song is about a Christian church that was abandoned (or otherwise vacated) in 1969, and was taken over by an occultic group (usually Satan worshippers). For some unknown reason, it became known as the "Hotel of California". Further rumors have it that the Eagles are Satan worshippers, and that Satan appears in the window on the "Hotel California" album jacket. [another emailer says] I remember hearing as a kid that the Eagle's megaplatinum song "Hotel California" was about Aleister Crowley's mansion near Loch Ness, and the weird goings-on that supposedly happened there; including such "clues" as the line "...they stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill The Beast" (Crowley's nickname). It's even been said that if you look on the album cover, you can see Satanic High Preist Anton LeVey in one of the windows. I've looked, and though it is fuzzy... damned if it doesn't look like him.

So did Henley and company sell their souls to Satan and then discuss the torment in song? Not even close. It appears that the song was much like "Life in the Fastlane," which was a look at the culture of the time. In an interview on 60 Minutes earlier this month when he Henley was told by Steve Kroft that "everybody wants to know what the song means." Henley responded, "I know, it's so boring... It's basically a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream, and about excess in America which is something we knew a lot about." - Watch video clips and read CBS.com's extensive article

Kanye Settles with Evel Knievel
Contact Music reports: Motorcycle daredevil EVEL KNIEVEL has dropped a lawsuit against KANYE WEST regarding a trademark dispute over the rapper's TOUCH THE SKY music video.

Knievel, 68, filed suit for trademark infringement last December (06), after West donned the stuntman's famous biker outfit for his 2006 promo and called his character Evel Kanyevel. Knievel - real name Robert Craig Knievel - claimed the "vulgar and offensive" images depicted in the video was damaging to his reputation and sued for compensation for the use of his likeness and trademark.

But in July (07), the couple agreed to call in a mediator to help them settle the battle out of court, agreeing to share mediation expenses as they worked on a solution. And after a meeting at Knievel's Tampa, Florida home recently to discuss the matter further, they resolved the issue amicably and decided to dismiss the legal action altogether, according to MTV.com. - more on this story
