antiMusic reports: It seems like only yesterday that Angels & Airwaves released their debut album but the band isn't messing around and a little over a year after that CD dropped they are already back with their sophomore effort, 'I-Empire,' which hits stores this week. To celebrate the release we asked Atom Willard to pick his favorite five tracks from the new CD and tell us a little bit about each one. Here is Atom with today's song "Everything's Magic" This is the first song we wrote for I-EMPIRE specifically, in January of 2007. And it all started with Tom saying he wanted to do a song with a "lust for life" kind of feel. We figured out a tempo and I put down the beat you hear in the verse. The whole thing came together easy and pretty quick, Tom wrote the lyrics in about a day and the hand claps everyone talks about came right at the end. Fun song to play live since everyone starts dancing. Just in case you didn't know Angels & Airwaves is former blink-182 & Box Car Racer guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, Offspring drummer Atom Willard, David Kennedy from Box Car Racer and former 30 Seconds to Mars bassist Matt Wachter. Tom produced the new album. Preview some tracks from the CD, learn more about the band and CD and more

Gigwise reports: Don Henley from The Eagles says that their number one album 'Long Road Out Of Eden' will be their final output together. The record – their first studio recording in 28 years – has trounced Britney Spears' 'Blackout' in the battle for number one on both sides of the Atlantic, and Henley has hinted that this feat won't be repeated again. The drummer/vocalist said: "This is the final statement. We got back together and went around the world twice on tour but then there was nothing left to do without new music. Now we have this album that fits in with our body of work. There won't be another Eagles album after this."

Contact Music reports: Scottish singer Kt Tunstall is furious her hit tracks have been used by contestants on talent TV show AMERICAN IDOL - because she is not a fan of the show. The Suddenly I See hitmaker is disgusted her songs Black Horse and Cherry Tree were used on "a money-making puppet show." She says, "There's no control given to the people. They are nationally humiliated for being themselves. Horrible."

Contact Music reports: JENNIFER LOPEZ is facing the axe from her record label after disappointing sales of her latest album BRAVE. The seventh studio effort from the Get Right hitmaker was released last month (Oct07) and sold a mere 53,000 copies in its first week, prompting reports the Latina would be dropped by Epic Records, a subsidiary of Sony BMG. The label is reportedly fed up with Lopez's poor record sales and the extravagant costs to maintain the artist, including an album cover that cost $60,000 (GBP30,000) and a make-up fee of nearly $8,000 (GBP4,000) for each promotional appearance. An source at Epic Records says, "(Lopez) costs too much money and doesn't sell enough. The woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage."
