Aerosmith Vs Idol
Contact Music reports: AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN TYLER has blasted TV talent shows insisting he could never "endorse such methods" for discovering new talent. The rocker refuses to watch shows like American Idol, which featured his guitarist Joe Perry last night (23May07), because he feels stars should work hard to reach the top - not get lucky on a television show.

He says, "I'm not sure how I feel about those kinds of shows, to be honest. "One of my personal biggest influences was my father, Victor Tallarico. He practised every day on a Steinway grand (piano) in our small apartment, and I listened to him play the classics.

"I started singing when I was three, in front of family and friends (and) later from watching bands like the Kinks, the Beatles."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

K-Rock is Back
SMN reports: At 5 p.m. today, the sounds of NIRVANA’s “All Apologies” blasted out of stereos set to 92.3 FM which officially marked the station’s return to WXRK, or K-Rock, after last year’s switch to WFNY FreeFM. Rumors of famous shock-jock hosts Opie and Anthony’s firing were also put to an end, as they kicked off the first “rock block” declaring “K-Rock is back,” before launching into GUNS N ROSES‘ “Welcome To The Jungle.”

With ratings decreasing over its course, as well as the departure of CBS Chief Exectutive Joel Hollander, change seemed inevitable. The move to change WFNY to WXRK is the first major change since new Chief Executive Dan Mason started last month. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Clive Vs Clarkson Pt 473
TMZ reports: After Clive Davis' very public display of rejection toward pop superstar Kelly Clarkson (via a speech that canonized Saint Carrie Underwood) on last night's "American Idol" finale, sources tell TMZ that SONY/BMG execs were apologizing to members of Clarkson's camp for their label head's rude behavior.

The 75-year-old owlish music mogul was tasked with speaking to the huge TV audience about the health of the "A.I" franchise and appeared to go out of his way to avoid mentioning Kelly's new single "Never Again" (which reached the Top 10 for heaven's sake!) or her forthcoming CD, "My December." Yet he somehow managed to find time to plug both Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee's new singles!

Clive did briefly allude to two-time Grammy winner Clarkson -- but only to praise the talents of outside songwriters working with "Idols." Ouch![see full story for more. Well you have to keep in mind that Kelly was at RCA before Clive took over so he didn't "mold" her.
