Tesla Week: I've Got A Feeling
Day in Rock reports: We're celebrating the recent release of Tesla's 'Reel to Reel' this week. Frank Hannon will be giving us some insight into the making of several songs from the new CD with his studio diary. We conclude the special today with the Tesla version of the Beatles 'Let it Be' classic "I've Got A Feeling". Here is Frank:

Friday, November 17, 2006 at 2:42:13 PM - This is a song that JK and BW are always fooling around with at sound check. Brian is a die hard Paul McCartney fan so we had to pick at least one Beatles song that hasn't been overdone yet and this was it. It has a great bass line and a cool Jam feel. We tracked it several times after learning but again it was the first take that had the swagger. After listening to our takes a bunch, we felt it needed to be a little tighter so Troy came in the next day and re-played his drums to the second take, and this is the one we used. Dave is playing a tele that used to belong to Stevie Ray Vaughn and the tone is amazing.

Claymate Musical
DJ Rossstar reports: Let me start off by saying that this is not a joke. Sometimes the news I post is so extreme that I wouldn't blame you for not believing it.

Spinner has spilled the beans on "Idol: The Musical" which will open Off Broadway in New York City on July 5th 2007.

The show is described as ""a satirical look" at the phenomena known as Clay-Mania -- a thumbnail that strikes us as being almost as redundant as "a soporific rendition of 'You Light Up My Life,'" although it fails to mention who actually gave the description. (perhaps they are embarrassed)[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

The Day the Music Died Online
CMJ reports: On June 26, Internet radio stations will observe a day of silence, shutting down regular programming to protest the Copyright Royalty Board's royalty increase, to be enforced July 15. Thousands of webcasters are slated to take part, such as Live365, KCRW, AccuRadio, as well as college stations like WUSC-FM, among others. The day of silence is aimed at showing their listeners and the community at large what it will sound like after the ruling. With the royalty increase exceeding 100 percent of most webcasters' total revenues, the majority of stations would be forced to shut down if the ruling is enforced. Icky Dump
Idolator.com reports: When the White Stripes had the idea to rechristen the abandoned Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard "Icky Thump Records" and allow their fans to indulge in a little midnight-madness shopping this past Monday, they probably had no idea that the sheer devotion of their fans would result in a massive opportunity for blindingly obvious puns:

The trouble started when the band announced that the first 200 CD's sold at the temporary store when it opened at midnight Monday night and re-named "Icky Thump Records" for the occasion, would receive free tickets to the concert.

White Stripes fans began congregating in front of the closed retailer on the Sunset Strip in the early evening Saturday, even though no public facilities existed for them. That was when neighbors began reporting that they were witnessing incidences of public urination and defecation.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
