Day in Rock reports: We're celebrating the
recent release of Tesla's 'Reel to Reel' this week. Frank Hannon will be
giving us some insight into the making of several songs from the new CD
with his studio diary. We continue today with the Tesla version of the
Thin Lizzy classic "Bad Reputation". Here is Frank:

PM - This song ROCKS! We learned this song in the studio and recorded it
live after an hour of practice. We decided to tune back up to standard
E tuning because it felt better for JF's voice and when we played the recording
back it sounded killer. Dave Rude blazes a solo at the end before I take
over the guitar lead with the phase and wah wah. Troy wanted to re-do his
drum solo but after listening back he decided to keep the original. I'm
glad because it was smooth yet aggressive. Troy is a very dynamic drummer
and can play many styles. After over 20 years of rocking together, it still
amazes me how this band can play live and capture magic on tape.

Sleazeroxx.com reports: Motley Crue is claiming
that Rock Star made Tommy Lee look like less of a rock star.
The Dr. Feelgood band sued one of their
managers Monday, claiming that Carl Stubner made business decisions with
his own interests in mind and gave Lee bad career advice, which in turn
tarnished the group's image.
Not only did Lee's participation in the
reality shows Tommy Lee Goes to College on NBC and Rock Star: Supernova
on CBS get in the way of Motley Crue's 2005 Red, White & Crue tour
and plans to record a new studio album, costing the band's annual revenue
to fall to only $19 million in 2006, but the NBC series' "inane overtones"
made Lee look "incoherent, lazy and incompetent," alleges the lawsuit filed
in Los Angeles Superior Court. [no need for comic comments to be added

Contact Music reports: Latino rock siblings
MAX and IGOR CAVALERA have returned to the studio 10 years after a very
bitter public family bust-up. The Sepultura founders fell out in 1996 when
Max's stepson, Dana Wells, was killed in a car crash and his mother Gloria,
Sepultura's manager, opted to take time out to grieve her loss rather than
join the group on tour. Igor and his bandmates then hired a new manager,
infuriating Max, who quit the band to support his wife. He went on to form
Soulfly. The two brothers patched up their differences last year (07) after
Igor reached out to Max by phone when Soulfly were touring through Europe.
The Brazilian siblings have since teamed up to jam in the studio and perform
together at select Soulfly shows, and now they're working on new material.[see
