Sleazeroxx.com reports: An Evening of "Classic
Rock" Hits performed by, Brian Johnson & Cliff Williams of AC/DC –
Mark Farner formerly of Grand Funk Railroad – Joe Lynn Turner of Deep Purple/Rainbow
– Steve Luongo of The John Entwistle Band
AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams and former
John Entwistle Band drummer Steve Luongo met at a hurricane relief concert
produced by the John Entwistle Foundation in 2005. The year that followed
found Cliff and Steve jamming together when the opportunity arose. In 2007
they were joined in the studio by guitar virtuoso Mark Hitt and AC/DC vocalist
Brian Johnson for a bit of fun. In the months that followed this group
of musicians did what all musicians do. They wrote and recorded music together.
In the spring of 2007 Cliff and Brian agreed to lend their talents to a
fund raising tour dubbed Classic Rock Cares. The proceeds from the tour
will go to the foundation's primary mission of free music education and
instruments for underprivileged children through the public library system.
It was decided that in addition to their
AC/DC hits Cliff and Brian would perform some new material as well. Chain
Gang On The Road (which can be heard at www.johnentwistle.org/crc/crc.html)
is a sample of what people can expect in addition to the AC/DC hits. [see

PR reports: This week marks the release of
‘SCUM: 20th Anniversary Edition,’ EARACHE RECORDS’ celebration of NAPALM
DEATH’s landmark release, ‘SCUM.’ Just as raw and explosive today as it

as a groundbreaking album and the place where grindcore was unleashed upon
the masses.

edition dual disc CD/DVD containing the original album and a documentary
highlighting the early days of the band and examining the story behind
the album and its explosive impact on the wider music scene. The documentary

Turner Prize nominee, Mark Titchner, who explains the aesthetic angles
to Napalm Death's revolutionary noise, among others.[see full story for

PR reports: When Underworld released their
last album "A Hundred Days off " no one thought it would be nearly 2000
days until the next one arrived. It hasn't been a case of lazing around
in the Essex countryside though as the last 5 years have thrown up the
1992-2002 anthology album, two major film scores (Anthony Mingellas’ "Breaking
and Entering" and Danny Boyles’ 2007 "Sunshine"), a self-published typographic
journal "In The Belly of Saint Paul", a series of pioneering digital-only
releases, internet-radio broadcasts, a groundbreaking live web-tv broadcast
and gig in partnership with Apple and Frankfurts’
techno giants Cocoon and countless gigs
around the world.
During all of this action Rick and Karl,
with the aid of trusty laptops, a couple of home studios, Abbey Roads’
legendary facilities and a Pig Shed, have been carefully developing ideas
for the new album "Oblivion with Bells", an album that was finally completed
in a flurry of activity and excitement in spring 2007. [set to his stores
in October]
The Summer of 2007 sees Underworld playing
a handful of European festival dates (where you can expect new material
to be debuted along side deep grooves and some classics from the Underworld
jukebox) ahead of their tour, which kicks off in North America in September:
Underworld Live, 2007 (more dates to be
confirmed)
June:
Saturday, 30 Wild In The Country, Knebworth,
UK
July:
Thursday, 5 Super Bock, Super Rock Festival,
Lisbon, Portugal
Saturday, 7 Monegroes Desert Festival,
Monegroes, Spain

PR reports: Soul-ska pioneers The Pietasters
release their new studio album, All Day, on August 21, 2007 (Indication
Records / RedEye USA). The release marks the band’s first release in five
years. Produced by Todd Harris (James Brown), All Day displays an impeccably
refined Pietasters: soul-drenched and in fine songwriting form. Expect
The Pietasters’ signature sound of skankin’ punk rhythms and raucous vocal
rumblings slowed down and sticky thick with the sounds of early Motown
and Jamaican soul. The result is subtly nostalgic and enticingly fresh,
offering plenty for both longtime listeners and younger underground music
fans who missed the ska scene on the first (or second and third) go ‘round.
Indeed, there is something truly timeless about ska music; and who better
to remind us of that than The Pietasters?
The Pietasters bring their high energy
live show, and their new material, to venues coast to coast this summer.

PR reports: Chicago DJ/producer/multi-instrumentalist
Copperpot, aka Daniel Kupyers, is notorious for his stage fright. His condition
spawned the name of his newest album WYLA?, an acronym for What're You
Looking At? (EV Productions.) WYLA? is Copperpot's second full-length,
and the follow up to 2005's Chapter 7. The stage shy artist called upon
hip hop peers and legends such as KRS-One, Prince Po and Braintax, to help
construct WYLA? and extended unlikely invitations to prog post-rockers
like Dan Bitney and Jeff Parker of Tortoise and Matthew Lux of Isotope
217 to help him overcome his fear of being the sole man in the spotlight
on the upcoming album.
Copperpot has been producing hip hop since
2000 when he joined The Phonograph Scientists, a Chicago-based turntable
crew. ‘Pot went solo in 2005 with his album Chapter 7 and soon after things
got hot when The Chicago Reader ran a feature spotlighting his appearances
on local projects from artists like Qwaazar (Typical Cats), Iomos Marad
(All Natural) and several acclaimed 12” singles featuring local Chicago
emcees paired with lyricists from London.
Copperpot will release his sophomore album
WYLA? On August 7th, 2007 on the EV Productions label. Check out one of
the album's lead tracks “Let It Go” featuring Truth Enola (see full story
for an MP3) and see Copperpot spin live on Tuesday, June 19th, during his
monthly residency at Shebeen, NYC as part of the “Plays Well With Others”
series.- Click

PR reports: They Shoot Horses Don't They?
is back with its trademarked post-punk/post-circus sound. Coming off the
success of 2006's Boo Hoo Hoo Boo, the Vancouver 8-piece gives us Pick
Up Sticks, an album full of oompa horns and whirling, driving guitars all
wrapped up under the peculiar charm of the band's lyrics. The music avoids
any true genre definition, remaining true to its muddled, distinct carnivalesque
pop that could've come from a not-so far off circus planet or from the
mangled cabaret scene of the 1940s. Not to be taken as a mere sideshow,
the musical talent here offers much of a balance between desperation and
vigor. With much likeness to acts such as Captain Beefheart and Sun Ra,
They Shoot Horses Don't They? is the perfect shot in the arm for anyone
who has a skewed vision of living today.[see full story for a full album
