Unseen Week: Torn and Shattered (nothing left)
DiR reports: To celebrate the release of Unseen's new CD 'Internal Salvation' this week we have asked Mark to pick his top 5 favorite songs from the CD and tell us a bit about each track. We continue today with the song "Torn and Shattered (nothing left)". Here is Mark:

This song was done in the middle of the song writing process. The music was done by Tripp our bassist along with Scott our guitarist. The words to this song dwell on finding strength in a time of need. It's somewhat slow for The Unseen I guess it's our album ballad, haha.
- 'Internal Salvation' hits stores today.

Cops Bust Prince Show

The musician, 49, was halfway through his set at the legendary First Avenue nightclub when he announced: "The authorities say we gotta go."

86ed Charlotte
Contact Music reports: Rocker JOEL MADDEN and his girlfriend NICOLE RICHIE were escorted out of a luxury California hotel on Saturday (07Jul07), after the GOOD CHARLOTTE frontman almost came to blows with U.S. reality TV star SPENCER PRATT.

Pratt was dining with his The Hills co-star and fiancee Heidi Montag when the incident at the Beverly Hills Hotel occurred. Pratt claims Madden was angry about comments he was incorrectly reported to have made about Richie's weight. [does she have any weight?]

He tells website In Touch Online, "I was sitting having a quiet lunch with Heidi when Nicole walked in and started pointing at me and then whispering to Joel. "He storms over and starts shouting, 'You've been talking s**t about my girl.' I told him, 'Please can we not do this at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This is ridiculous.' Then he started screaming and calling me names." - the high drama continues here. At least it's more exciting then his last two CDs.

Moby's Latest Beef
Gigwise reports: Moby has hit out at organisers of the Live Earth concerts for selling meat at the shows.

Speaking through his blog, the vegan dance veteran quoted the UN statistic that livestock breeding and the gases the animals emit is a huge contributor to worldwide the greenhouse gases in the environment.

He writes: “The one thing that still stuns me… is that almost no one in the 'stop global warming' camp talks about the environmental ramifications of animal production. To quote a UN article: ‘rearing cattle produces more greenhouse gases than driving cars.’ [yes, but a good steak is a lot tastier than a Honda. Why doesn't be organize a global concert against meat? He could call it Live Stock] - Moby's tirade continues here

Maroon 5 Carbonated Tour
PR reports: Grammy-winning pop quintet Maroon 5 has announced plans for their 2007 "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" world tour, hitting 28 North American cities, with special guest The Hives, beginning September 29th in Detroit and concluding November 10th in Las Vegas.

The tour is in support of their recently released sophomore album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, the second highest selling debut of the year according to Soundscan. The band is also partnering with climate change organization Global Cool in order to make the massive production "carbon neutral."

Global Cool will work closely with Maroon 5's production team, management and the boys themselves to reduce the carbon emissions produced by the world tour before offsetting the remaining emissions that cannot be reduced.- more on this story

Women Should All Be Shot in the Head?
AP reports: The judge in Phil Spector's murder trial decided Monday to let jurors hear from a celebrity security guard who says he heard the record producer rant against women and declare they should all be shot in the head.

Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler had previously decided against allowing the testimony, but he said he reconsidered when the issue was raised again by the prosecution at the end of its case.

Bragg Prison Clash
Contact Music reports: Former THE CLASH guitarist MICK JONES and BILLY BRAGG performed in a London prison on Friday (06Jul07) as part of a campaign to encourage inmates to take up music.

Jones played The Clash's classic Should I Stay Or Should I Go to an audience of convicted criminals at Wormwood Scrubs prison, before handing out five guitars. Quote of the Week: Saving the Earth With Bad Music
PR reports: The good folks at Hecklerspray spend a good deal of time giving out useful beating tips as well as humorously delivering entertainment news about useless celebs and other "folded" topics. Today they posted their hilarious Live Earth recap which has provided us with more than one quote of the week. Are you ready? Here they are: "...That's right, Saturday saw Al Gore's global Live Earth concerts take place around the world, where a diverse group of musicians including Madonna and Spinal Tap travelled to large vastly-lit sports stadiums in their private jets to tell a televised audience of two billion to use different lightbulbs, sign the vague Live Earth pledge and only drive around at 100mph while loaded up on pot if you're in a Prius like Al Gore's son. Unless you're Madonna, who seemed to think that singing a rubbish new song and telling everyone to jump up and down would have some sort of effect on climate change.

...there's not really any hiding from the fact that trying to save the environment with a series of global concerts that are estimated to have emitted a total of 31,500 tons of carbon - roughly the same amount as you would if you left your TV on standby for 1,684,498 years - is a bit like someone trying to raise awareness for domestic violence by punching his wife in the face a lot."- A lot more here including how Keane can save the world!
