PR reports: Texas indie rock quintet Eisley
has announced the release of their sophomore album Combinations on August
14th. Building on the success of their lauded debut Room Noises, the guitar-driven
Combinations is a diverse collection of songs that nevertheless fit comfortably
together. The lyrics shift effortlessly from romantic to quirky (the first
single, “Invasion,” even involves an alien takeover), but always keep the
listener fixated on the track at hand.

their 6th studio album The Meanest Of Times a collection of tales about

of classic punk rock, Celtic folk and American rock'n'roll, this album
puts the band's diversity, intensity and sincerity on full display. The

Drew of The Dubliners. TMoT was recorded at The Outpost in Stoughton, MA

PR reports: At the end of a nine month European
tour, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals landed in a Paris recording
studio and completed their new album, LIFELINE in just seven days. The
result: a soulful masterpiece with beautifully direct lyrics, undeniable
grooves and an effortless energy that recalls the best works of Otis Redding,
Bill Withers and Beggars Banquet-era Rolling Stones. Yeah...it's that good.
It's no surprise that most bands today
don't record albums live, straight to tape, in one room, no Pro Tools,
no auto-tune. There are only a handful of modern artists that can pull
it off. Since Ben & The Innocent Criminals were so musically connected
after such a long tour, they entered the studio immediately. And on a sixteen
track tape machine and one full week in the City of Lights, they successfully
recorded and mixed an album that will sit alongside all of your old favorites...just
like a classic record should.
Check out the stream for the brand new
single "In the Colors" from Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminal's LIFELINE,
due out August 28th on Virgin Records. - Listen

PR reports: Guff is hitting the road. The
Athen's, Georgia based pop-minded punk quintet has been at it for a decade
now. "Symphony Of Voices", which was released on June 26th, is the band's
Go Kart Records full length debut. Reminiscent of some of the West Coast's
early 1990's melodic skate punk pioneers, the record serves as a reminder
that pop-punk, when done right, still functions in an irresistible manner.
With a well balanced combination of hooks and grit, Guff's speedy, riff-laden,
sing-a-long-ready anthems should sit well with fans of punk's catchier
sides. Furthermore, if dive bar jukebox condemned classic rock anthems
float your boat, you'll be stoked to know that Steve Perry (yes, of Journey)
produced and sang one of the album's tracks ("I Can See It In Your Eyes").
With a slot on this Summer's Vans Warped Tour and subsequent tour dates
to follow the band may be crossing your path sometime in the near future.

PR reports: Mustard Plug is set to release
their 6th full length album, In Black And White on Hopeless Records on
September 11th. The new album is a return to form of sorts, as Mustard
Plug recently headed back to the famed Blasting Room recording studio in
Fort Collins, CO to work with veteran punk producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents/ALL,
NOFX) — the same studio location and producer of the band's seminal 1997
album, Evildoers Beware. While In Black And White's title may nod to technology
of the past, take one spin of the new album, and you'll instantly notice
a record that's as colorful and current as ever. It's crammed full of ear-grasping
melodies while at the same time embracing the bands darker and more mature
outlook on their world, formed over the band's 16 year existence.-

PR reports: Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer," from
Them vs. You vs. Me, is the NUMBER ONE Active Rock track in the country.
The song is also firmly in the Top 5 on the Alternative Rock chart. This
marks the first time in the band's career that they have hit the top of
the charts in the U.S. market, a feat they have enjoyed a number of times
in their native Canada. The song continues to move up the Pop charts, and
all signs point to a hit in that format. The combined audience continues
to hit new highs weekly, currently at 14.2 million sets of ears.
This summer the quintet will spend a few
weeks as direct support to [Artist name removed, sorry we no longer cover

PR reports: Since we had to disable new accounts
in our comments section due to idiot spammers, we will from time to time
post messages people wanted to add to those articles. Today we have comments
on the recent Clay Aiken Air Rage incident and Avril's accused song theft.
First a Claybot with the expected "explanation"
for what happened on the airplane. badpoetry writes: That Clay story is
hilarious! Actually, he was asleep and his foot was on the woman's armrest.
She couldn't wake him up, so instead of calling the flight attendant, she
started hitting him? Good lordy. But, he didn't press charges, although
it sounds like he could. Guess not "all" the old ladies are achin for Clay?
hahaha. [So it turns out he was beaten up by a woman for being rude? ok,
we'll buy that. The airlines can easily prevent this from happening again
by only allowing one passenger per closet.]
Now an Advil Latrine fan going by the name
of JustTheFacts defends the punk poser's accused song theft by pointing
out that she ripped off the Rolling Stones instead of The Robinoos: Why
aren't the Rolling Stones suing the Robinoos? Listen yourself and decide:
The
Rubinoos rip off The Rolling Stones - Rolling
Stones - Avril Lavigne - The Rubinoos COMPARE HOOKS
So the Stones and the Rubinoos have the
same chords in that chorus.. Avril chorus at least are different chords.
[like the poster said, listen for yourself and judge how much music quality
has dropped from decade to decade to decade. Thanks Clive!] -
