Dementia Hate Zombie |
SMN reports: SMNnews recently talked to Jon
Dzwonar, vocalist of New Jersey based underground death metallers EX DEMENTIA,
about the band’s upcoming new album, their plans for an East Coast tour
with CARDIAC ARREST, his hatred of Rob Zombie, and more.
…what are your thoughts on Rob Zombie’s
plans to remake Halloween? Think there’s any chance it wont suck? A: There
is no chance that the movie will be decent. Rob Zombie is a talentless
hack and always will be. I don’t know why everyone is surprised he jumped
on the remake route, his first piece of s*** ‘movie’ was pretty much a
remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre but with MTV music video styled editing
to keep the attention of the mouth breathing pieces of s*** who claim to
be ‘horror’ fans nowadays. Oh, and to top his ‘masterpiece’ off, what does
he do? He makes the sequel a rip-off of the sequel to the original Texas
Chainsaw Massacre! Great thinking Rob! You f**king whore. I could have
just seen him sitting at his computer desk thinking ‘Well, most people
haven’t seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, so I’ll just lift the whole ‘law-man
who has a grudge on the killers because they killed a relative of his in
the original’ and no one will care! Shit, no one cared that I blatantly
ripped off the original one in the first place! Shit, I’ll even put my
f**king talentless wife who can’t act worth a s*** in it too!’ And before
you f**king idiot pieces of s*** can give me that ‘Who cares if she can’t
act, she’s hot’ argument just shut the f**k up right the f**k now. I don’t
give a s*** if she has a nice ass, if I wanted to look at a nice ass I’ll
just look at the billion pages of porn on the f**king Internet. No, horror
movies don’t necessarily have the greatest acting, but the best movies
of the genre generally do have some solid performances, and I’m positive
that that hackjob has enough weight in the industry to get money to pay
someone with at least a minuscule bit of skill. [he's just getting warmed
up, see the full story for the entire interview and the rest of his anti
Zombie rant!]

Young's Room to Grow |
conqueroo reports: Nashville-based singer-songwriter
Adrienne Young is such an ardent supporter of sustainable agriculture that
she bundled seed packets into the liner notes of her Grammy-nominated first
album. But it’s her third release, the forthcoming Room to Grow — due out
May 22, 2007 on her own AddieBelle Records and distributed by Ryko Distribution
— that she feels will bear the most significant fruits of her labor. Young
has integrated a national responsible-farming awareness campaign and fund-raising
effort into the release of Room to Grow, a perfect marriage between her
convictions and her talent.
Young, together with the Food Routes Network,
which she has represented nationally since 2004, have formed an alliance
with the American Community Garden Association (www.acga.org). Working
with these national non-profits based in Philadelphia and Boston, Young
will donate a portion of every record sold to a newly established fund.
Proceeds will support local farming efforts in a variety of ways, from
supplying non-GMO organic seeds to community gardens, to assisting progressive
agricultural entrepreneurs.- Click

Scene: Kittie - Endwell - Smilin Liar |
Screaming is back in style.
But as has always been the case, an album full of it won't sell to a mainstream
audience. The question becomes, how best to mix extreme vocals with melodic
ones? New releases from Endwell, Kittie and Smilin Liar try very different
answers. -

George
McClure - Playboy Swing |
Overall this is a very solid
CD. I like how McClure moves so easily from one sound to another. This
album easily appeals to fans of jazz, Latin and people who like a little
twang in their music. (3.5 stars)

Stab Horror - Manifesto Infernale |
Baby Stab Horror calls themselves
Thrash/Black Metal but they in all actuality sounds like the result of
a Lamb of God/Dimmu Borgir super group. The album possesses black metal
characteristics, [but with] modern day influences overlapping that old
school sound.- Read
