Arcade
Fire The Next Oasis |
Launch reports: Arcade Fire have accused U2,
Oasis, and the Rolling Stones of being obsessed with taking over the world,
calling it "a total crock of sh-t".
The Canadian indie heroes release their
new album Neon Bible next month, but have insisted they will never force
their music down people's throats.
Accusing his rock peers of "marketing the
f--k" out of their music, Fire frontman Win Butler suggested the groups
in question might as well be selling toasters.[see full story for more...

Inked
In Blood Guitarist Recovering |
Lambgoat reports: On February 11th 2007, Inked
In Blood guitarist Matt McDonnell was found lying on the floor of his home
near Portland, Oregon cold, sweating and barely able to breathe. Matt was
immediately rushed to Adventist Medical Center in Portland where his vital
signs had been taken and shown to be critically low. Doctors were able
to slowly bring his health back using I.V.'s and other medications. Matt's
condition held steady for the next 2 days while doctors continued to diagnose
his ailment. Then, suddenly, on Feb. 14th his health took a turn for the
worse when 60% of his lungs filled with fluid and he was no longer able
to breath. Doctors were forced to put Matt into a drug-induced coma in
order to pump the fluid out of his lungs by inserting a plastic tube down
his trachea. Matt narrowly escaped death once again and remained on Life
Support in the Intensive Care Unit for the next 3 days.
After 5 days of being in ICU, Matt's
health finally began to improve and he is moved back into regular care
unit in the hospital. Matt was released from the hospital and sent home
on Feb. 20 at 4pm with strict orders to rest and recover for the next 4
to 6 weeks.[see full story for more]- Click

PR reports: Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC),
the national youth volunteerism movement that has motivated more than 16,000

Santana
Shorter DVD |
PR reports: Image Entertainment presents the
DVD release of Carlos Santana and Wayne Shorter: Live at the Monteux Jazz
Festival in stores February 27th. It began almost as a lark when Carlos
Santana encountered his longtime friend and hero Wayne Shorter on the concert
trail in Atlanta, GA, in 1987. Carlos said, "Let's start a rumor that we're
putting a band together."
Wayne's eyes got bigger and brighter as
he smiled and then responded: "Yeah, Carlos, let's start a rumor."
A few months later the Carlos Santana/Wayne
Shorter Band performed its debut concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco,
the beginning of a 26-concert tour throughout the U.S. and Europe. The
performance of this magnificent band was recorded at Montreux, Switzerland,
on July 14, 1988 and includes interviews with Carlos Santana, Wayne Shorter
and festival creator Claude Nobs. [check out a Santana interview video
