9 Years of antiMusic: Plumbing The Depths Of The Mallcore Mind
Day in Rock reports: It was nine years ago this month that our sister site Rocknworld.com was launched. So to celebrate 9 years of antiMusic we'll be looking back at some of our most popular articles since the beginning. Today we look at one of Greenmuse's most infamous musings where he risk life and limb to go undercover into the depths of the local mall to interact with the mallcore crowd! Here is a snippet of the article: This month I’ve taken it to the streets, that is to say the mall. I printed up some business cards with some fake music site dot-com logo, and brought one of those James Bond type tape recorders and went to the mall to see what fun I could conjure. So here it is.

Interviewee#1- Chris. a typical mall going 14 year old, shoulder length black hair with blond tips, wearing a slipknot t shirt and huge ass jnco pants. Starts every sentence with “dude”, I introduced myself as Arthur “two sheds” Jackson and prayed he never saw the Monty Python sketch of the same name. Avril Beats NIN
Reuters reports: Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne's third studio album will top the U.S. charts when sales data are issued Wednesday, while rock combo Nine Inch Nails will be the runner-up, industry experts predict.

Each should open with more than 200,000 copies, a welcome boost for the Billboard 200, where the chart-topper on four occasions this year, including the current week, has sold less than 90,000 copies.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

FL to Outlaw Fake Bands
AP reports: The Florida Senate embraced the "truth in music" movement Friday with passage of legislation barring oldies acts using famous names to which they're not entitled.

The bill now awaiting House approval would prohibit a person from advertising or holding a live performance using such a name under false pretenses.

Bands with famous names performing with at least one original member who has the legal right would be allowed. The measure also would still allow people who own a federal service mark or trademark to use the name of a band.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
