An attorney for the controversial star Chris Brown entered a not guilty plea on his behalf on Tuesday for the hit-and-run charge that caused his probation for the Rihanna beating to be revoked.Brown was charged with hit-and-run, driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance after he allegedly refused to give another driver his information after he reportedly rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light, according to Billboard. The charges for driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance were dropped after Brown's attorney provided proof that the entertainer has a valid driver's license in Virginia, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney's office told the publication. Brown's trial for the hit-and-run charge is scheduled to begin on August 15th. His felony probation for the 2009 beating of Rihanna was revoked earlier this month and he faces a hearing to determine if the probation will stand. He could serve some of the five-year jail sentence for his assault of Rihanna, according to Radio.com.

One Direction have beaten a record set by Miley Cyrus on the video platform Vevo after the boyband's new video for the song "Best Song Ever" received the most views during the day of release. The group released the video on Vevo on Monday and it garnered 10.9 million views within the first 24 hours of release on the site, breaking Cyrus' 10.7 million views record she set with her controversial "We Can't Stop" video. Our news partner Radio.com reports that the Ben Winston-directed clip was filmed in Miami has the boys showing off their acting chops in some very unexpected roles. At the start of the video we see two bald and grey-haired movie execs, played by Louis and Niall, gossiping in a big office before the band meets them to discuss their next film. Once One Direction join them for a meeting the execs promise the band a new movie that is "better than Forrest Gump, funnier than The Hangover, sadder than the Titanic." Better than okay, the execs say it will be "award-winning." Meanwhile, the guys check out sexy assistant Veronica as she brings them drinks. Only upon the video credits do we realize she is played by Zayn, who makes a very convincing woman. Nerdy marketing guy Marcel, played by Harry, enters the meeting to explain the movie concept as a major dance number. In comes energetic choreographer Leeroy, played by Liam, to show off some of the dances. "Dance is just so hot right now!" Marcel tells the guys. Read more and watch the video here.

(Extra) "Extra" sat down with singer/actress Selena Gomez to help celebrate her 21st birthday and the release of her first solo album, "Stars Dance."Gomez opened up about her recent run-in with her star crush, Bradley Cooper. "I just remember seeing him and freaking out and running away very quickly afterward. That seems to be the thing I do. It was surreal. He was so beautiful. I told him I was a big fan." Selena jokingly added, "I'll have a restraining order soon." Gomez also talked about getting personal in her album, revealing that the main theme is independence. "I just wanted this entire record to be about being a woman, being comfortable in your body. I still don't think I necessarily spilled everything. I think the fans will have fun putting it all together." Selena will be going on tour soon and said Beyonc้ motivated her after seeing the "Mrs. Carter" tour. Gomez gushed, "I could never touch that status. It was ridiculous, but it did give me motivation! That's something that I definitely, at her age, would love to be doing. (Radio.com) "Southern Girl" is the brand-new single from Tim McGraw's latest album Two Lanes of Freedom, which he released this past February. Yesterday (July 23) McGraw premiered the video for "Southern Girl" exclusively on country radio websites. The song is "just one of my favorite tracks" from Two Lanes of Freedom, McGraw told Radio.com in an interview earlier this year. It's got a groove that he called "breezy" and "funky," noting that the song "has this laid-back feel" but that "there's an intensity to it as well." "Southern Girl" is the fourth single from Two Lanes of Freedom, coming after his recent No. 1 smash "Highway Don't Care" (which featured Taylor Swift and Keith Urban) as well as two songs released last year "Truck Yeah" and "One of Those Nights." "Southern Girl" was written by Jaren Johnston, Rodney Clawson (who also cowrote "One of Those Nights"), and Lee Thomas Miller. "We brought cameras out on the road and turned them around on the crowd," McGraw explained regarding the music video, "and they really helped us capture the fun summer groove of this song." (Radio.com) Enrique Iglesias has come a long way since 1999′s hits "Bailamos" and "Rhythm Divine." This week, Iglesias released the fan-made video to the first single off his forthcoming November release, "Turn The Night Up."While he enlisted the help of his fans to build his new dance video through submissions of their "craziest dance moves" to his website, the video shows some behind-the-scenes access to his show. Iglesias recently visited New York radio station 92.3 NOW (a Radio.com station) and explained the meaning behind his new song, particularly one phrase: "Gimme some of that." "I always walk around my house saying, 'Gimme some of that,'" he said. "If I'm hungry, I say, 'Gimme some of that.' If I'm horny, I say, 'Gimme some of that.' So I go to the studio and I kept on saying that phrase and we wrote a song around it." He explained that he never planned for "Turn The Night Up" to be the first single off his upcoming album and that the song is "a little out there." "It's one of those crazy songs that you write and you think, 'This could be either good or bad but if I pull off the vocals I could actually have something.'" Iglesias also said he'd love to collaborate with Miley Cyrus after meeting her recently. "It'd be cool to do a song with Miley Cyrus. I like her." While an Enrique/Miley collab may be unlikely in the immediate future, he confirmed that fans can expect new music for him in November. "[I'm] still in the process of finishing up two or three songs," he said. "I want to make sure I pick the right songs." Watch the video and read more here.

(Radio.com) Travis Tritt has written many songs throughout his career but there's one song in particular that means more to him than the rest: his 1991 hit "Anymore."Written by Tritt and Jill Colucci in Nashville, "Anymore" was the second single from his triple-platinum album It's All About To Change and his second No. 1 hit in the United States. Years later, he heard a story that forever changed the way he would view the song. A mother reached out to Tritt after her daughter was in an accident and was in a coma for nine months. The woman said her daughter was a big fan of Tritt's prior to her accident, and that they would play his music for her in her hospital room. Every time they played his song "Anymore," she would turn her head toward the music. "They were playing the song for her and all of a sudden she snapped out of a coma," said Tritt. "How much my music had to do with that, I don't know, but I know that all the doctors were saying that music is a very good thing. [It] is especially stimulating to someone who's in that type of situation. Even in a comatose state they can respond to music like that." Tritt eventually visited with the young woman in the hospital and said the whole story stunned him. "It really was a wake-up call to make me realize that music is so powerful, so much more powerful than those of us that create it really give credit for," he said. "When you play a part in writing a song that has that kind of an effect on people it tends to make it become more near and dear to your heart." Tritt covers a lot more in the Radio.com interview, check it out here.

(Radio.com) In the late '90s, Save Ferris was riding high. At the forefront of what's considered ska's "third wave" of popularity alongside such acts as No Doubt, Reel Big Fish and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Save Ferris produced MTV hits with songs like "The World is Now" and a cover of Dexy's Midnight Runners' 1982 single, "Come On Eileen," both taken from the band's debut full-length, 1997's It Means Everything.Save Ferris would appear as the high school prom band in 1999 teen movie 10 Things I Hate About You, starring the late Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, with the group moving towards more pop-oriented sounds on their second full-length, Modified, in 1999. Going through a number of line-up changes heading into the new millennium, the band would eventually call it a day in 2002, with band members branching out into myriad bands and projects, including Starpool, which boasts a multitude of ex-Save Ferris musicians alongside Alan Meade, who'd been part of an early incarnation of No Doubt. For lead singer Monique Powell, the happy memories of singing with Save Ferris were put in stark relief due to an unexpected health diagnosis. "In November of last year, I was diagnosed with a congenital disorder that at one point almost forced me to make a choice between being able to walk and being able to sing, because of the nature of the surgery," Powell revealed during an exclusive phone interview with Radio.com. "The doctors would have had to go through the front of my neck, and I would have lost my ability to sing, but if I didn't have the surgery, there was a chance I'd no longer be able to walk after a few years." "It was a really scary time, and it forced me to reflect on my life and my abilities," Powell continued. "All of the joy that Save Ferris brought me over the years and the fact that this is my 10-year anniversary of my last show with Save Ferris
I just decided I was going to find a doctor, we're going to do this right, I'm going to have the surgery and then I'm going to play a Save Ferris show again." Powell scheduled the procedure, and came through with a renewed determination to bring Save Ferris back to life.

(Radio.com) It's been two years since Drake released his last album Take Care, but he certainly hasn't been quiet. Instead, Drake's spent his time guesting on a handful of tracks with what seems like every rapper in the game, including the newly anointed Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky. He's also spent time testing the waters by dropping songs that, besides "Started From The Bottom," may or may not be featured on his upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same. With the recent announcement that his new record will be out September 17, fans will finally get a fully formed album that Cash Money CEO Birdman already claims takes Drake to the next next level. "I think Drake he's one of those n***** that's gonna change the game every time he come, because he's a talented animal," he told MTV. "He's somethin' I never been around before," High praise coming from the guy who made stars out of Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. But what could Drake do to take his game up a notch and pleasantly surprise his fans? Record With A Live Band: It's nothing new to see a rapper to team up with a live band for a few tracks here and there or an MTV Un-Plugged special. But using an actual band in the recording of the album means the whole making of would no longer be a two-pronged process. He could just go in with a band and lay down the track right there. Drake as bandleader: the ultimate baller move. We've even got an idea of the band who should play back up, the ultimate hip-hop band, The Roots. The jazz-tinged outfit would add a touch of class, a few horns (including a sousaphone), and a chance for Drake to ditch the drum machine once and for all. Whether he's showing off his side stick pattern or tearing into a blazing drum-and-bass groove, Questlove on the skins will add a little more heart to Drake's already palpable sound. Go Smoother, Silkier, Sexier: As an '80s baby with a penchant for Cosby sweaters, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see him channel one of his favorite singers, Sade and go smooth R&B for Nothing Was The Same. Though Drake tried to get the songstress to collaborate with him on his 2010 album, Thank Me Later, she politely turned him down. (She's also turned down Jay-Z in the past.) This could be his chance to show her how much he truly loves her style by updating her adult contemporary sound for a younger generation. Bonus, the silkier sound will definitely mean more chances to hear Drake sing and a chance to hear an Aaliyah sample or two. To help him get the right mix of soul and R&B, Drake can team up with Black Milk, the sensitive producer who can help the rapper make something sweet, silky and original. And who knows, maybe Sade will be game to collaborate this time around. Three more suggestions here.
