Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty, Some Charges Dropped
. Brown was charged with hit-and-run, driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance after he allegedly refused to give another driver his information after he reportedly rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light, according to Billboard. The charges for driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance were dropped after Brown's attorney provided proof that the entertainer has a valid driver's license in Virginia, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney's office told the publication. Brown's trial for the hit-and-run charge is scheduled to begin on August 15th. His felony probation for the 2009 beating of Rihanna was revoked earlier this month and he faces a hearing to determine if the probation will stand. He could serve some of the five-year jail sentence for his assault of Rihanna, according to Radio.com.
