Justin Bieber Tops Lady Gaga
(popmusiclife) Justin Bieber passed Lady Gaga this week to become the most followed person on Twitter.

Billboard reports the teen star scored the social media victory on Monday night, as he notched a new high of 33,315,521 followers to Gaga's 33,315,459 - enough to pass her for the first time as their follower counts fluctuated back and forth.

According to Twittercounter.com, Bieber adds an average of 40,055 users a day, a pace that should put him firmly in the lead shortly. Gaga currently adds 30,495, with Katy Perry, in third place, growing her 31.4 million followers at the pace of 29,843 a day. more on this story

Jerry Seinfeld Collaborating With Rapper
(Radio.com) MMG rapper and Seinfeld enthusiast Wale is up to nothing again. Jerry Seinfeld recently revealed that the two are collaborating on a project, presumably the rapper's forthcoming Album About Nothing.

Without revealing too many details about the project, comedian Jerry Seinfeld confirmed that he and Wale are working on a secret project. "Wale called me and came to my show and hung out a little bit," he explained of the collaboration. "He wanted me to do something with him and I didn't understand it but he did. I like the guy, I dug the guy. I listened to his music and I liked his music. So I said, I'll do it even though I didn't know what I was going to do."

Seinfeld was further swayed by the reaction of his wife, Jessica Seinfeld, when he mentioned the possible collaboration with Wale.

"I said to my wife, I'm doing this thing with this guy Wale. She said 'Wale is my favorit hip-hop artist anywhere. I have everything. [But] somehow she missed everything that had to do with me." more on this story

Lady Antebellum Streaming New Song Online
The Green Room is streaming Lady Antebellum's new single "Downtown," which comes from their forthcoming album.

"There's some sass to this track that makes it really fun to sing…it's definitely a roll down the windows and bob your head kind of thing," said Hillary Scott. "We thought it was a fun way to launch the next record and a fitting preview of what's to come!"

The band are set to person the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno next Monday (Jan. 28) and again on CBS's The Talk (Feb. 6).

The group will also be collaborating with Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks for an all new CMT Crossroads episode set to tape next week in Los Angeles and air later this year. Preview the song here.

John Mayer Makes Return To The Stage Following Vocal Problems
(Gibson) John Mayer has sung live in public for the first time in almost two years. The singer and guitarist appeared at a benefit concert for firefighters in Bozeman, Montana, performing the song "If I Ever Get Around to Living" from his latest album, Born and Raised. Mayer experienced severe vocal issues and was diagnosed with granulomas on his vocal chords, that forced him to cancel all touring behind Born and Raised.

According to Rolling Stone, Mayer told the crowd at the event "The sound of my voice sounded like my body was a radio dial and someone had knocked it and it was half-off the station. I went to see the doctor about a couple of weeks ago and he looked at my throat, and I think it's gone." Mayer told The Bozeman Daily Chronicle that his voice is slowly returning to its previous range: "It's like my cast isn't off, but my bone is healed. "It lets up very slowly, every couple of weeks there's another note. If I play along with my guitar, nothing sounds out of place."

Now it remains to be seen whether Mayer will go back out on tour with Born and Raised, or wait until he has a new album to support. According to what he told The Bozeman Daily Chronicle it seems as if it's the former option: "The record still holds up for me as something I want to play through for people. I love it. It speaks to who I am and there's still what I want to experience. I've still yet to have some of these three minute and 30 second songs open up on stage." more on this story

Paul Dano To Play Beach Boys' Brian Wilson In Biopic
(Radio.com) For years, a biopic based on the troubled and triumphant life of the Beach Boys' creative mastermind, Brian Wilson, has been in the works. The film not only tackles Wilson's early fame with the Beach Boys, but his personal relationships and struggles with mental illness and depression, which lead to his departure from the band by the mid 1970s. Michael Bolton Went From Hippy To Crooner
(Radio.com) With over four decades in music, 53 million albums sold and two GRAMMY awards to his name, singer Michael Bolton has had a storied career.

In his upcoming autobiography, The Soul Of It All, due out January 29, Michael opens up about his journey to the top of the charts and beyond, sharing intimate details about love, life, family and work.

The book, he writes, is about the "soul of it all; the passion, hard work, striving, sacrifices, joy, and faith it takes to keep the dream alive," and just in the first chapter alone, Michael gives readers a glimpse at the hard road he traveled to achieve his dream in hopes to inspire yours.

In the meantime, we read the first chapter of his autobiography and found ten of the most interesting (and surprising) tidbits about his life.

1. He was a "hippie kid" in the '60s that busked on street corners in Greenwich Village with his guitar for money.

2. Also in the '60s, you could find Michael hitchhiking along Route 66 or trying to "push-start a vehicle that looked like a cross between a Wonder Bread truck and the Beatles' Yellow Submarine" with his band mates. Read the other 8 here.
