The Day in Pop Digest for 9/7/10: ASB reports that an unnamed source says Taylor Swift "is furious that Kanye keeps discussing the VMAs incident," a source said. "She's fed up of hearing about it and is disgusted that he has the cheek to use her name to promote his new album! more. She has every right to be angry but keep in mind this came from one of those infamous unnamed sources.

(Yahoo) Paris Hilton was banned Wednesday from two Wynn resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, and her boyfriend was dismissed as a nightclub partner following their arrests in a vehicle that police said reeked of marijuana. more

(Yahoo) Kara DioGuardi is following Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell out the door at "American Idol." Her departure leaves Randy Jackson, who's been with the singing contest from the start, the last judge standing, for now. Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are the reported front-runners for the panel. more

(ASB) Rihanna has got a name for her next studio installment. The 22-year-old "Rated R" singer calls it "Loud" and promises to fill it with "sassy, fun, flirty, energetic" sounds, according to RihannaDaily.com. more

(BBC) Charges against two people accused of trying to extort money from actor John Travolta, following the death of his son in the Bahamas, are dropped. more

(ASB) A never-before-heard track from Madonna has hit the web. Called "Broken", the leaked song reportedly comes from production hands of Paul Oakenfold who previously helped Madonna working on her latest Greatest Hits compilation "Celebration". more

(Yahoo) Bravo announced Monday that Danielle Staub, the firestarter on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," would not be returning to the show. more

(ASB) Boyband McFly had to remake the promo for their comeback single "Party Girl" - after broadcasting bosses in the U.K. banned the video from TV over its graphic content and nudity. The promo, which features explicit scenes of flesh-eating vampires and bandmember Harry Judd partially nude, had to be re-cut to overcome a TV broadcast ban.more

(NME) Sir Ridley Scott has spoken about the two 3D Alien prequels he's working on, explaining that the films will be set in the year 2058, 30 years before Alien, the first move in the sci-fi franchise. more

(Yahoo) A judge has ruled that a rapper known as 40 Glocc who touted his gang member status in songs and videos is subject to a 2008 gang injunction barring him from an apartment complex in his hometown of Colton. more

(Yahoo) ABC News President David Westin, the longest-reigning network news division chief, with more than 13 tumultuous years on the job, told his staff Monday that he is resigning and will leave by the end of the year. more

(ASB) David Archuleta was one of performers at Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) telethon on Labor Day weekend, September 5. He performed a song called "Things Are Gonna Get Better" during the fund-raising gig which benefits those afflicted with the neuromuscular disease. more -

Zach Hill has released a new MP3 from his forthcoming second solo album, Face Tat, which hits stores on October 19th.

The track "The Primitives Talk" will be available as a free download via Amazon.com for the entire month of September.

Thunder Buffalo Launch Unconventional Tour

2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon A Big Success
MDA had this good news: After 21-1/2 hours of great entertainment and powerful appeals, the final timpani rolled and confetti fell on the 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon which raised $58,919,838 in contributions and pledges to advance the research and service programs of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

"I'm heartened by the unique ability of Americans to help others in need, when they themselves are likely struggling financially," said Lewis. "People see the progress MDA is making for children and adults living with muscle diseases. I'm truly grateful for their caring enough to brighten the future for 'my kids'."

The Telethon originated for the fifth year from the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas, reaching some 40 million viewers by way of MDA's Telethon network of some 170 television stations, as well as cable throughout the United States and Canada. Samantha Marq Party Mix
