Seal Sets Album Release
Reprise Records have announced a September 28th U.S. release date for Seal's new album Seal 6: Commitment. They say of the release:

The first single is "Secret," a deeply moving, string-laden ballad, that ranks among Seal's finest love songs. Commitment finds the London-born, three-time Grammy Award winner re-teaming with renowned music maestro David Foster, who also produced 2008's Soul, Seal's stunning covers collection of soul classics.

"I asked David to produce Commitment because quite simply, he's the most incredible person I've worked with in the studio for a very long time," Seal says. "He's one of a kind. I don't think there's an arranger and producer anywhere on the planet who can do what he does."

The Hundred in the Hands Release Pigeons Video
Pigeons made the news last weekend after the onstage assault on Kings of Leon but today we give you another music story that feature the winged beasts.

The Hundred in the Hands have premiered their new music video for the track, "Pigeons," the next single from their forthcoming debut album. Watch the video, directed by Daniels (Warp Films), here:

The single will be released September 14 digitally and on 12", backed with remixes by Blawan and Walls. The Hundred in the Hands' self-titled debut album follows a week later. Talking about the subject of the song and video, The Hundred in the Hands' Jason Friedman says of the protagonist: "She's drifting between weekends with her friends in the city center. There's dirty pigeons wandering around. In the city, even the birds are filthy. She sneaks out the house. She's got a crush and they hook-up but she's doing it more out of boredom and he's doing it because he's a teenage boy. It's like a looped narrative, every weekend, the same thing. She makes mistakes, possibly very, very bad mistakes but she's always in control. She's smarter than most of the people she meets. Up on the roof she looks at the city and the pigeons flying in circles above and wonders why don't they just fly away?" - more on this story

Eight-Year-Old Violinist Brianna Kahane Steals The Show
An 8-year-old violin prodigy stole the show when more than 1,400 supporters packed the RiverCentre ballroom for the 10th Annual Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala in St. Paul Sunday night for a truly unforgettable evening of entertainment, inspiration and charity.

Master of Ceremonies, comedian Norm Crosby, presided over the event that featured special honors for Sam Moore, Muhammad Ali, Steve Martin, Brad and Janet Anderson and Harvey Mackay.

Eight-year-old violinist Brianna Kahane opened the event performing a captivating 30-minute solo set – on a mere 1/4-size violin – including everything from "Csardas" by V. Monti to a medley of "Over the Rainbow" and Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody." This, coupled with her performance – donning a pair of dark shades – to a standing ovation with legendary Sam Moore on his Grammy-winning classic "Soul Man," helped the event raise a record $7.5 million to further advance the foundation's goal to fit every financially needy child and adult in the world with a hearing aid. - more on this story
