Aaron Smith a.k.a. Shwayze Previews Mixtape
You may know him best as Shwayze, but Aaron Smith is stepping out of his comfort zone with his new mixtape Love Stoned.

"I have a side project under my Real name Aaron Smith and a lot of people are asking "Why isn't it Shwayze"?? Or "Is the group Done"?? First of all the group will NEVER BE DONE that's how we started and we'll alwayz be pumpin out Shwayze tunes for you to party to, so no worries there. 2nd I didn't use the name Shwayze because I felt like this music is a bit different and I didn't want to throw off the Shwayze fans, because we all know how ya'll love your WEED and Women!...

"Somewhere along the journey I fell in love, which gave me a whole new motivation and inspiration. Love Stoned is a product of a lot of different emotions and overall I think its a growth for me as an individual... I defiantly stepped outside of my comfort zone and learned a lot of new things about myself... My advice to people after making this record is don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone because that's when we challenge ourselves and that's when we grow!"

Bing Crosby Heirs Win Claim Against Major Label
After a ten year battle, last week a jury in Santa Monica, California awarded the heirs of Bing Crosby a judgment in excess of 2 million dollars for their lawsuit against Universal Music Group.

Here is the statement we received about the conclusion of the case: It's a significant victory for the Crosby family, as well as for all recording artists whose royalties have been underpaid by record labels.

Crosby's daughter Mary commented, "Recording artists have a long history of being taken advantage of by their labels, and despite the incredible contribution my father made to the world of music, he was no exception. I give my mother a lot of credit for her willingness to hang in there for over a decade. It seems that record companies prefer to keep things in litigation for as long as possible because most people don't have the resources to stick it out. This tactic generally works, because the majority of artists settle out of court for far less than they're due." Mary was in the courtroom with her mother, Kathryn Crosby, when the verdict was read.
