Michael Jackson Home Movie Footage Surfaces
Submitted News reports: As the world focuses today on the previously unreleased rehearsal footage that has been transformed into Michael Jackson's "This Is It" tour documentary, legendary producers and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff are giving fans an earlier, intimate look at the budding megastar they deeply loved and mentored for 35 years through a newly discovered home movie filmed while producing the Jacksons at the famed Sigma Sound recording studio here in the mid-'70s.

The Jacksons recorded their first two post-Motown albums -- The Jacksons and Going Places -- in Philadelphia with the Philadelphia International Records (PIR) production crew. With Michael paying close attention to the production and songwriting techniques of the men who brought Philadelphia soul music ("The Sound of Philadelphia") to "people all over the world" and studying them to help create what would be his own mega-platinum recording career. Several hit songs came out of those production efforts, including "Enjoy Yourself," the Jacksons' first platinum single, and "Let Me Show You the Way to Go." Those albums, previously only available on vinyl, were re-issued recently by Sony Music on CD and digital download formats.

The home movie – available for viewing starting tomorrow (Oct. 29) at www.gamble-huffmusic.com – made during a recording break by house producer Dexter Wansel, captures a candid moment with the Jacksons, still giddy from visiting Muhammad Ali at his training camp with the PIR team the day before.

Peter Squires Hitting The Road
Musebox reports: When you combine honest lyrics, raw acoustic strummings and straightforward vocals ripe with sadness and humor – you get Brooklyn-based Peter Squires' new album. Woe Is Me features urban tales of heartbreak and betrayal set against carefully stripped-down folk songs full of raw emotion. Delicate layers of guitar and minor percussive flairs create a minimalist sound with enduring beauty.

Peter's direct and honest vocal delivery is reminiscent of contemporaries such as Kimya Dawson and Luke Temple. The album is all heart, laid bare for our aural pleasure. Woe Is Me was recorded in Peter Squires' Brooklyn bedroom and is available on his website for fans to download at no charge. The first video from the album is "Witch" and it was just released in time for the Halloween season.

Peter will be kicking off a nationwide tour on November 15th, playing intimate venues all over the country.

God-des and She Third Album Hits Next Week
Audible Treats reports: Hip-hop/pop/soul duo God-des and She are proud to announce the upcoming release of their third album, Three. Produced entirely by Brian Hardgroove of Public Enemy fame, the album will be released on November 3, 2009 via G&S Records.

God-des and She have always been unique- a female hip-hop/soul duo whose sound varies as widely as their subject matter. With their third album, appropriately titled Three, God-Des (the rapper) and She (the singer) now embark on a journey to cross over from substantial underground success to the mainstream. In making that transition, the group has managed to both hone their existing sound and expand into an eclectic mash-up of other styles, including hyperactive dance music ("Drum Circle"), all-American rock ("Change"), anthemic electro ("Radio Up"), and feel-good, windows-down pop ("Get Your Bike").

While delving into so many genres on one album could easily sound disjointed, a confident identity forged over years of working together, as well as sure-handed production from Hardgroove resulted in a cohesive, dynamic set of songs. "So many of our fans comment on how much we grow every time they see us live or hear the next song we are working on. Our first two records were great in their own ways, but we hadn't truly found our voices or sound. Three cannot be compared to any other artist. It sounds totally unique and crosses all boundaries and is hard to even put into a style of music." - more on this story

Richard Hawley Sets Digital Release
PR reports: Richard Hawley will release the single "Open Up Your Door" on December 1, 2009. The digital-only single features the song's album version, a new live recording of "Don't Get Hung Up In Your Soul" (BBC Radio 2 session, recorded August 2009) and the exclusive B-side "Run For Me" (6Music session, recorded September 2009). This is the second single to be taken from his critically acclaimed sixth studio album "Truelove's Gutter," out now.

In the US, the album version of Hawley's "Don't Get Hung Up In Your Soul" will be featured as Starbuck's "Pick Of The Week" November 17th!

This performance took place October 23rd at The Roundhouse in London. Hawley joined Dame Shirley Bassey on stage where they performed "After The Rain" together.
