5 Things Yoko Ono and Courtney Love Have In Common.
This month’s Top5 has been stirring about
in the back of my head for some time. It really does amaze me how much
Courtney Love and Yoko Ono have in common and with Courtney’s recent media
appearances and the news surrounding the Nirvana settlement and greatest
hits release, I felt the time was opportune to take a look at these similarities.
I won’t go into the usual anti-Courtney
rant about the conspiracy theory of her having Kurt offed, to be honest
I don’t know enough of the details. What gets me about Courtney is not
only her personality but her music is truly awful. Just because she calls
it punk does not give her an excuse for not being able to sing or not being
able to sing in key (X is as about as punk as you can get and Exene Cervenka
CAN carry a note). On that front her and Yoko are on the same page, they
think if they give it a label their lack of talent can be swept under the
rug. Listen to Courtney’s cover of “Gold Dust Women” and I rest my case.
I honestly doubt that Courtney would have a platinum album to her credit
if she had not been married to Kurt. The sad part is there is plenty of
people with talent that will never got a chance at making a major label
record but these two wives of rock stars have. And Yoko's
