5) Half of the bands are in jail on drug charges
4) the other half are in rehab
3) The KISS reunion. After seeing KISS in action, most music fans become 
reluctant to shell out $50.00 to see a bunch of guys standing around on stage in T-shirts and jeans. They want to go see a SHOW.
2) The record companies stopped signing innovative grunge bands, they instead flooded the airwaves with a bunch of copy-cats

And the Number one Reason Grunge Died

After the bands were successful and found happiness, they lost the underlying inspiration for their music, so their fans labeled them sellouts.
