Miggs - Unraveled Review

by J Simpson

.
Miggs is a three piece west coast band who are currently preparing for the release of their new disc on June 17th named Unraveled. The trio consists of Mr. Michael Lombardo on base and backup vocals Mr. Brian Totten on drums and last but not least the leader of the group singer/songwriter guitar player Mr. Don Miggs.

While Miggs have been around for a few years with different labels and members, going from a 4 to 3 piece band, amid all the trials and tribulations of the current music scene one thing has always remained consistent, Don's passion for his music. That passion is a key feature of Miggs sound.

Unraveled has 11 contemporary power/pop songs all previously released or recorded during various incarnations of Miggs and all have been either completely re-recorded or remixed for this album. The disc is full of smooth, easily likeable catchy tunes with Don's clean tidy vocals to round out the whole package. A few of the standout songs off the disc would have to be I Believe, Perfect or the ballad at the end called Invisible. There's nothing ground breaking or new here but the songs are very appealing and memorable which makes for a solid album. I would recommend it.
