Cruel Way is beyond cruel, it's torturous. In the Razzies of the music world, this should be a hands-down winner. The programmed drums are almost exactly the same for each track. If they weren't downloaded for free, they should have been. Plus, it's best when JDJ can't keep up, or is off-tempo, with the drums because somehow he didn't see this as something to fix before sending the disc to press. For humor's sake, there are lyrics like, "Everybody wants to be/The one to cream my dream." Throughout the tracks, JDJ thinks of every crass way to describe orgasms. If it weren't so awfully ridiculous, it would be disturbing. In fact, I'm saving "Kim" for my wife of the same name just in case she really deserves the headache of hearing it one day. Although short of ordering a hit on me, I can't imagine what would deserve such spitefulness. Overall, Cruel Way is written like a Jerry Springer guest's attempt at a Penthouse Forum, or a dirtbag's attempt at The Misfits.
The cover of the disc is a burned down house. I'm sorry if there is some sad situation behind the fire, but based on how bad JDJ Band sounds, here are my theories:
1. Meth Lab accident.
2. A neighbor couldn't take listening to JDJ anymore.
3. After dumping all of his savings into Cruel Way, it was the only house JDJ could afford.
Cruel Way deserves the rating of one-half (over no rating) because:
A. The dog looks cool, and it's not his fault.
B. I will keep this disc forever. Music this bad is too good for the garbage.
C. JDJ looks like Howard Stern's lost twin.
