Counter-balancing my initial reaction of the ugly cover art, SeepeopleS' newest record is a terrific collection of songs that will not fail to pull at your heart strings. The band is made up of vocalist/guitarist Will Bradford, drummer Tim Haney, bassist Dan Ingenthron and keyboardist Peter Keys has a real handle on creating a vibe that gets in your head. Not a record that you want to put on before you hit the party but rather a great CD to unwind following one. Except for a few cuts, this sounds like Genesis in the Trick of a Tail period, although with more of a strong pop sensibility.Bradford has a voice that melts across your ears like butter on popcorn and musically the band is diverse enough to maintain your interest while not sounding out of place with each other. From the rollicking opening cut "Don't Panic" to the calm of "Once a Dream", there is a real sense of quality here. Even though there are 17 cuts (two are interludes), there are no throw-aways. Quite good stuff indeed.
