David Shaw - Walkin' on a Wire Review

If you like your rock a bit on the sandpaper-y side, David Shaw may be your boy. His music is in the AC/DC, ZZ Top vein with vocals that are not too far removed from Billy Gibbons. This record is jammed with 13 tracks of foot-stompers that probably prove pretty engaging in some sweaty club. The New Yorker has a knack for writing material that is memorable and something that you can play over and over. All of the cuts create a cohesive package yet they all stand out from each other. Between all the rawwk is the sleeper cut "Tinkerbell", a ballad of sorts that provides the bic lighter, perhaps the best moment of the record. Beyond that, you are treated to the rockers "From Now" and "Risk Another Fall", two of the better cuts here although everything is pretty great here. Highly recommended.
