The American Idol alum tweeted his critique of the film, which had the actors sing live instead of lip synching on camera, explaining the score suffered because the actors are just "pretending to be singers." He believes they should have used some studio magic to make everyone sound as good as they possibly could. It turns out Russell Crowe, who stars at Javert in the movie, doesn't totally disagree with Adam's assessment that the vocals could have been sweetened. The actor, who was the frontman of 30 Odd Foot of Grunts until 2005 and now sings with his band The Ordinary Fear of God, said that the film's director, Tom Hooper, wanted it "raw and real, that's how it is."
