American Idol Season 8 champion Kris Allen and his pregnant wife were injured after being involved in a head-on collision on New Year's Day. Allen suffered a broken wrist in the car accident and his wife Katy also suffered unspecified injuries. Their dog, who was also in the car, was uninjured.
Allen spoke about the accident in a Titter posting that said, "Thank you @Ford for equipping me with a car that kept my while family safe ... and the little one we have on the way safe."
And then he confirmed the news that he and his wife are expecting with this follow-up posting, "Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy."
Allen also reassured fans that he would still proceed with his upcoming tour, "Don't worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on."
