Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Security Problem At Airport

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and an American Airlines employee caused a security problem at JFK airport in New York City on Tuesday after the employee let the celebrity couple skip a security screening.

West and Kardashian were making a connecting flight to Los Angeles from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and an employee let the pregnant reality TV star and her rapper boyfriend bypass a TSA security screening in an effort to get them on their connecting flight quickly.

Once they were on the LA bound flight, a TSA agent pulled them off the plane and subjected them to a private screening, which reportedly was one of the reasons that caused the flight to be delayed by almost an hour, according to TMZ.

The TSA told the gossip site, "An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight."

"In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to by-pass the TSA security checkpoint. TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway."

"The passengers were cleared to board their flight, which departed after a delay of approximately 50 minutes. TSA is actively investigating the incident."

TMZ also spoke with an American Airlines representative who told them that, "This was a lapse in judgment by one of our employees."

The rep also said, "We're working closely with the TSA and speaking to the individuals involved to better understand what happened."

And the airline rep explained that the celebrity couple wasn't the only reason for the flight's delay, "It was delayed in part ... because a number of connecting bags were delayed getting to the aircraft."
