Justin Bieber Probably Not 'Retiring'

12/27/2013
.
(Radio.com) "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring" And with that tweet at 7:20 p.m. on Christmas Eve, millions of haters and losers got their Christmas wish, and millions of Beliebers' Christmases were ruined. Most importantly, billions of people in this world and the next didn't care or don't really belieb this statement anyway.

Not that Justin Bieber needs to hold a teary press conference to announce his retirement when he already has 48 million followers on Twitter and over 60 million on Facebook. And over at his Facebook page, his "official" announcement is dubiously absent, though promotions for his new album Journals and his new movie Believe remain.

His Twitter account for the last 24 hours has been nothing but retweeting fans talking about his movie, which hit theaters December 25. This perhaps is an odd move if you announced you're out the game. But thankfully his retirement comes as perfect timing, for perhaps not everyone would have been aware of Believe if he didn't say something as shocking as "I'm officially retiring" on Twitter.

Bieber also "announced he was retiring" in a short interview with Power 106 earlier in December, after which his manager Scooter Braun told Access Hollywood, "He hasn't taken time off since he was 12 … he knows he wants it, and wants to spend time with his family. His younger brother and sister are starting to grow up and he doesn't want to miss their childhood."

Language is tricky, so until we have an official announcement from Braun or Bieber's label, it's best we take it with a grain of salt, much like his "Worst birthday" or this one.
