. Perry has now attracted almost 48.5 million total followers on Twitter, having gained 1.5 million followers each month over the past year, according to Rolling Stone. Justin Beiber is slightly behind with 47.7 million followers and Perry is well ahead of her fellow popstars Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Rihanna. British boyband One Direction dominated the retweet numbers over the past years with four of the top five retweets.
