Jailed Pussy Riot Members Could Be Released Early
. According to The Hollywood Report, Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova could be released early due to legal errors in their cases. The two members were originally convicted by a Moscow court for "religiously motivated hooliganism." The Supreme Court says there is no proven "hatred" by the women, who are currently serving two year sentences. "The court did not provide any proof that Tolokonnikova, 24, and Alyokhina, 25, were motivated by hatred toward any social group in its verdict," the Supreme Court said. Neither women had previous convictions. Tolokonnikova, Alyokhina and fellow bandmate Yekaterina Samutsevitch were arrested on February 17, 2012 after a protest at Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral. Samutsevitch was released on appeal but appeals for her bandmates were rejected. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
