Robin Thicke Mixes Hip-Hop With Michael Jackson and Prince

(Radio.com) Robin Thicke's new video for "Give It 2 U" is a football-themed bonanza featuring 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar and a whole lot of ladies shaking their thang.

In an interview with Radio.com, Thicke said the song is "very Michael Jackson, Prince, but also pretty hip-hop," calling it "a big, shiny pop record."

Though Thicke gets quite suggestive on the track, he said the sexy song is meant to be tongue and cheek, just like most of his album. "I've written so many songs about my insecurities, my fears, my failures, my relationship problems, my personal issues, my issues with God and the universe," he explained. "I've written about everything. I think that's why this album I was like, 'I don't want to write about myself anymore. I just want to write stuff that makes people feel good.' This is the most fun, feel-good music I've ever made."

And Thicke certainly keeps that feel-good vibe going with the Diane Martel-directed clip. The singer recruited college dance teams like the Alabama State Stingettes, Albany Passionettes, Baker Girls and the Jacksonville J-settes to show off their choreographed moves. But unlike "Blurred Lines," these ladies are fully-clothed–or at least close to it.

The video also features paper mache floats, a streaker, a girl wearing an outfit made out of cotton candy and Thicke's very blond son, Julian Fuego dancing and shouting out 2 Chainz's name. His dad must be proud.

Along with some not-so-sneaky product placement from the likes of Mini Cooper, Remy Martin and Beats Pill, there's an a** float, which is pretty much what you'd expect it to be.
